After a long anticipated three month wait, Lashaun Ellis has dropped a new track for his fans, a result of yet another devoted collaboration with in-house producer Khompono.
“Don’t Talk” plays out a consecutive mysterious yet relaxed type beat, steadily taking turns from pairs, of an uneasy sustained two chord melody paired with a kickless hi-hat and snare, returning to triplets of reassurance with a sharp, basic three-component drum set and three tranquil electric piano chords.
Through his inevitable prompt and clean flow, Ellis starts off assertively, producing a need for listeners to stop what they’re doing and give heed to what he has to say about those around him who speak frivolously as he carries on with the outcomes of his success–“Gotta pay attention when you over accomplished/…niggas ain’t playin’, see the gold on our watches/…niggas gettin’ mad and they know that I’m poppin’.”
The self-assured rapper ends the track with a final message of the chorus–“Don’t talk nigga, cause we don’t really fuck around; Just walk nigga, cause you don’t wanna fuck around.”
