hi dear!! do you have a headcanon voice for your birdo?? i know you said she has a low, warm and soft voice but i wasn’t sure if you had anyone specific in mind.

Do you mean a voiceclaim, anon? Unfortunately, I do not. I haven't put in any time to searching for one yet. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

I'd prefer the voice of another trans female character or a trans woman celebrity, but I'm also open to a drag queen's.

So in the games Birdo originally used to be an antagonist - in the sense that she was a member of the 8 Bits: a group that served Mamu / Wart (the main villain of Doki Doki Panic / Super Mario Bros 2). I thought it'd be interesting to incorporate that into her story...but definitely in a more flexible way that doesn't involve Dream Machine antics.

Maybe I could go with the narrative that Wart's a crime lord & wannabe king, who came across Birdo soon after she left home. He sweet-talked her into working for him so she could get coins to live off of, but kept a lot of things secret, so she obeyed him out of ignorance. She later cut ties and escaped when she realized how wicked Wart truly was, after he tried to make her do more blatantly criminal stuff like using her eggs to poison people on his hit list.

This happened back when she was younger and more naive. Although she has surely learned from it, Birdo isn't proud of her time in the 8 Bits at all.

Birdo quietly responded, if only for the sake of conversation. How did she even get into this situation, face-to-face with Bowser himself? While she was mostly unfamiliar with him, he leading his army for his desire of destructive conquest was infamous in the heaviest sense of the word. The Koopa King was not the benevolent sort. To say she was nervous would be an understatement…

The eggs Birdo spits are not edible at all, shell or the liquid contained inside. They are actually highly toxic and, chances are, will make someone extremely ill - or worse - should they attempt to eat them (cooked or raw). Same goes if the liquid enters the body through an opening like the mouth or an open wound.

They're more like "poison bombs" than actual eggs. With their toxicity, and how brutal the cannonball-like force of them being spat out is, their entire purpose is to serve as a self-defense method for a birdo.

The request aside, the armor the Koopa wore was also piquing Birdo's curiosity. It definitely wasn't something one would wear casually, if how…imposing it was hinted as such. But then again, he could be wearing it just for pleasure's sake. She always tried to never make blunt assumptions without learning more about someone or something.
