i should be able to experience being an older brother in the late 80s helping my younger sibling beat a difficult boss in an NES game just once. also it's the first day of summer and mom is letting us stay up late and i'm a little miffed because i wanted to sneak out with my friends so i'm mostly helping my kid brother just to show off but secretly it's kind of fun just to hang out together. we used to have so much fun when we were younger. the basement smells a little stale but the couch is comfortable and the light is a sort of soft orange color. there are crickets outside. tomorrow we're going to the lake.
