Here's "Routes to Revolution 2" 2021 In celebration of Pride Month. It uses several (but not all), of the flags associated with the LGBTQ+ community to rally against the remaining discriminatory practices and ideals they face. Its especially important for minority groups to support one another. I created this exactly one year after the original "Routes to Revolution" It's interesting to think about what has changed since then and what hasn't. I had this idea immediately after finishing the first one, but wanted to give it space to breath. I honestly had no idea there were so many flags. Was fun to research, and a challenge to make them work together. I forgot I never shared this Wilt Chamberlain piece I did for @battleofthebayart art show "@artofgsw ." Titled "The Big Dipper" Wilt played for the Warriors when they first moved to SF! Self portraits 195, 196 and 197. Playing with some proportions a bit more after that #robertvalley class. When you do as many self portraits I have over the years you amass many critiques about how things don't look like you for various reasons. Your ____isnt that big/small, why are you blue, etc. This over the years has made me shy away from greatly exaggerated proportions across most of my pieces...even with all the abstraction I do. "Desert Vibes 03" During the shoot for "Desert Vibes 02: Corona Heights" with @kerensouth my phone took a bunch of accidental motion photos I was able to export as video. Strung some of said video together to make this. Wanted to experiment with bringing my geometric style to animation then to live video. This actually shows how I work in a way. Looking for circles and straight lines in figurative forms. . . This 6 seconds of animation took weeks. Rotoscoping is always the worst, but lends fun results sometimes I don't own the music here. Exciting news! My piece "Patterns and Possibilities 1-6" Have been selected to be apart of the @embracingourdifferences exhibit in FL again! Meaning it will be blown up to billboard size. While this is my 3rd opportunity to to display with EoD it's the most meaningful because of this: I often speak about rejection and persistence. This is a great example. I wanted to do this series for a long time. Took a ton of research and more hours than usual to make. Yet wasn't terribly popular (what IS popularity even?). I submitted it last year and it wasn't accepted. Because I love this piece a lot I decided to try again and low and behold It got in. I'm incredibly honored and can't wait to see it in person.
