((I told myself I'd get back to replies. 4 days ago.
....And then I started rewatching Tiger and Bunny and I'm so sorry))

Dahlia frowned.
"Well, I guess lawyers are still people...somehow." she muttered, eyes wandering from the badge to the tacky suit,  to the same old hairstyle. It was made to seem like she was trying to sum up a first impression, when in fact she had been silently comparing the man who stood before her to the lovestruck fool she tricked back in the day.
"I'll let that slide for now, mister nameless attorney. I kind of feel sorry for you and your....taste in fashion." Well, at least it wasn't as bad it was back then. She just wanted to mess with the guy a bit, maybe more than a bit.

"My poem isn't much, really. And I was going to ask if I could write about you in my column." Replying with the same directness wasn't really something she did often, but she realized from past experiences that it was far easier to gain trust if you could prove yourself trustworthy enough.
Rather, it was a given fact she tended to overlook.
Tumblr media
She still had to keep a fake image, of course, but with all the lies piling up it seemed to grow more and more obvious. The slight bit of nervousness would usually work in her favor, but only if it remained slight.
She glanced at Prosecutor for another moment before looking away again. Ugh, she really hated looking into the eyes of anyone affiliated with the law. It almost seemed to sting now.
"Perhaps that was too straightforward, but you know, if your publication intentions are public then why keep them from the source?"
Candid Interview - [theglimmerousfop]
“Ah it is quite alright, fräulein.  It is much better than poems I have heard before.” Another hearty laugh and he ran his hand through his hair.  It was still obvious she’d been hoping for something, but he didn’t recognize her as the usual tabloid fodder that would follow him around, looking for a story.
“Excuse my directness, but did you have specific intentions?”

"I suppose so. It kind of just matters in the long run, huh?"
Tumblr media
There was that bit of reasoning that she got from the conversation that never really seemed to shine when talking to other people. Dahlia took it to heart that she probably never wanted to mess with this Yumihiko. He was far too interesting. She felt curiosity and the slightest bit of fear, but her words din't feel as forced and unnatural.
"But we'll just have to wait and see where we end up, won't we? We can never really be to certain."
And yet she couldn't forget that he was a prosecutor, and that he had almost recognized her in once glance. She still could not trust him completely.
Professions and Professionals - [baka-musuko]
“Ah, thank you very much. I hope to accomplish much more once I become a full-fledged prosecutor.”
Tumblr media
“It’s not wasted time if you gained experience in a field. As long as you know what you want to do now, that’s all that matters.”
He honestly never had such an intellectual conversation with someone before. And her uneasiness seemed to dissipate as well.

"...Nature itself would agree."
She nodded, glancing up at the sky for a moment. "Partly cloudy skies, even the birds would agree, the day's beautiful." It was a slip of the tongue, haikus from the college days she was never too fond of looking back at. She turned her attention to the Prosecutor again and smiled. Ah, well, at least he didn't seem as stuck-up as other people she met. Not that it really mattered.
"Sorry about that, I'm kind of in a writing mood! haha~"
The laugh felt a bit weird, trailing off at the end with this hint of nervousness that she never intended. Again, she looked to the sky.
Maybe she didn't feel like writing.

Ah, small talk.  He knew that was either an indication of nervousness, or trying to skirt around what they really wanted.  Given the woman’s tone of voice, it was probably the latter.  Well, at least she was polite.
“Ja, it is getting much better lately.”

"I'm afraid I'm not quite into coffee either, Miss..."
Dahlia froze, glancing away for a moment of thought. A moment to ponder on the strangeness of the person she was speaking to, a moment to ponder on her identity. She would have headed out immediately, but again, she had no reason besides insecurity.
"Also, pardon me, but, would it be alright to ask for your name? It's awfully hard to address a stranger directly. I'd prefer to be... acquaintances."
Ah, how it felt like an agonizing game of reading each other's actions, but Dahlia never hand much of a choice.
No, not quite... - [cadaveriniviola]

"Ah, Good day Prosecutor Gavin."
She cleared her throat and tried not to stiffen up or seem too uptight, and ended up sounding somewhere between intrigued and genuinely glad with the slightest bit of eagerness from imagining a promotion to a better column.
Tumblr media
"Lovely weather we're having today, mm?"
Another stumbles into hell
He still got stares even now, mostly because the Gavinners were freshly broken-up and he was still considered a rock star.  That didn’t stop him from glancing around when he felt the stare, though.
His eyes finally landed on a woman, and he gave her one of his winning smiles.
Tumblr media
“Hallo, fräulein.”

"Not so much of clever as it is obvious, you know, and it wasn't really intentional... Plus, you have a point. What's done is done, and likewise, it is a pleasure to meet you as well."
Tumblr media
She curtsies, looking a little hesitant after. "I don't suppose I should work on a different sort of image, do I? Perhaps the sweet and refined young miss act won't work anymore..."

"W-why gamble precious time over uncertainty, then?" Dahlia felt her patience slipping away, and gripped the end of her scarf.
Light reflected on the small waves in the water. She wasn't all too sure where to look. She probably should have brought shades. Maybe a different outfit. Maybe a ca- oh, she did bring her digicam.
She pulled it out of her pocket and quickly took a few shots of the area around her, occasionally glancing at the river and the young man.
"You people from the countryside must have a lot of free time, huh?"

"Ah, that's...That's Klavier Gavin, isn't it?"
Tumblr media
Dahlia eyes the prosecutor from a distance, feeling a little starstruck but not exactly head-over-heels. She did run the lifestyle column after all, and she never did do any interviews with any figures for popular culture since she got her job. Maybe this was a good enough chance.
Though, it was this kind of thing that got her back to wondering why she took the job in the first place.

Dahlia could have sworn she felt a chill up her spine the moment the girl spoke, and she took a step back in surprise. Not wanting to be rude in any way, she tried to reply.
Tumblr media
"I'm sorry, I'm not so fond of sweets. Also, have I met you before...?"
She knew how to make shady offers, so she felt she knew when an offer had to be declined as well.

"Everyone is strange in their own right, though, I just needed a bit of reassurance for something."
Tumblr media
"I suppose we're on the same boat then. I'm not all too fond of anyone back at home, either. Much too ungrateful, far less loyal, and definitely not interesting at all anymore." She could have sworn the slightest sent of burning in the immediate area. Were any butterflies in the area, she wondered. They had a bad habit of spontaneous combustion at odd times like this.
"I thought Inaba would be a curious place to explore, but now I suppose I have my doubts." Perhaps Inaba was just about as boring as Los Angeles...

Dahlia couldn't lie to herself. That girl was just....creepy, in her own bizarre little way. She didn't even notice her there until that moment.

Another has stumbled into hell
Tumblr media
Dahlia observed a young man who passed by with a certain curiosity, keeping all her thoughts to herself.
Tumblr media
She had then come to a realization that she didn't have to look for the badge first to spot a lawyer...she just had to look for the most outlandish hairstyles and she could easily narrow it all down from there.
