Plein air in cntrl pk today (unfortunately I became part of the attraction and a bunch of old people started filming me 😢)

I've been following you for a while and I adore everything you post, but I particularly love your recent plein airs!! They're so expressive! Do you have any practical tips for plein air painting? Not necessarily how to make the image look right, just how to transport and handle your materials! Particularly for mixed media, which I really enjoy doing at home - but when out and about I always end up juggling a dozen different objects and the resulting mess discourages me from trying it too often :')

Thank you so much! This is actually a great question because dealing w supplies was always the biggest obstacle for me as well. What I brought with me this time was a little jar which had a lid I could screw on tight to hold my paint water, a ceramic palette with seven wells to mix different colors (I found this to be MUCH less of a hassle than palette paper which blows in the wind and makes a big mess), gouache in tubes, and my neocolors which already come in a really convenient tin.

I sat on a bench instead of the ground so I could set all my stuff down without worrying about knocking it over and the paint palette was small enough that I could rest it in my lap along with my sketchbook. It ended up working out really conveniently!
