hm. considering writing a thing about Roger post-Bad Ending, and it shows how he's doing.

long story short: he's actually doing rather well! got his life back in order, has a place to stay, has some friends, y'know! doing good!

well uh. two small things:

1) we've got some one-sided Rogersport going on, and he's still dealing with Fazbender Trauma on top of felling betrayed by someone he opened up his heart to (told Legacy about his past, only to then discover that he Killed A Kid, Potentially Many Kids, and then tried to reason with him and get him to do the right thing, only for Legacy to basically give Zero Fucks)

and

2) he just kinda. has Blackjack (who is trying to hunt Legacy and Henry down) as a pet dog. and BJ's going along with it because Roger Really Needs Some Stability (And A Friend) Right Now, and he honestly doesn't mind having a place to stay and someone to talk to regularly as he tries to hunt down Those Assholes. there's also the bonus angst of the fact that BJ doesn't use his regular voice with Roger. because it's JACK’S Voice.

hoo boy, i have a lot:

did i mention that they're all autistic? i don't think i mentioned that...yeah, definitely not (< lying. i mention it every chance i get)

Peter doesn't (entirely) blame Jack for what happened to Dee (Jack had to work that day and couldn't stay with her), but he does believe that Jack should've at least gotten her a babysitter to stay with her at the diner.

Peter actually sued Henry for defamation (of Jack specifically). he won because he had the rather undeniable evidence of, i dunno, Jack Was Literally At Work When The Murder Would Have Happened.

^ this definitely won't cause any problems between those two later. definitely not. (< so uh. Henry Might've Had Some...Other Motivations For Killing Peter That Day)

Dee is just as chaotic as Jack is. she lived with him for a while, after all

Dee actually scratched at, and bit, Henry while he was killing her. and by bit, i mean she bit him hard enough to break the skin.

she regularly cussed out Henry after she died. she'd tell him to Fuck Off, call him and Asshole and a Dick, you name it. She Does Not Like Him

Peter is transfem and bigender, using he/she pronouns.

Peter has black nail polish. surprisingly, The Factory decided to keep it after he died. thought it looked cool i guess (it does :])

Jack has a mullet

Peter and Dee have a tooth gap

Jack takes after their dad more (despite being a trans man) and Peter takes more after their mom. Dee is basically a pretty good balance of the two

Peter doesn't swear a lot, so when she does, you can tell shit is Serious

Peter's death pissed Jack off.

Peter couldn't remember much of what happened, only getting vague flashes of things, so Jack and Caroline helped him out :]

Peter and Caroline have a son named August. Yes I'm Giving Peter A Son Again

Dee did not go with Henry willingly. he basically dragged her back there after she constantly told him no.

Dee is very much a cat person.

had Dee gotten to live, she probably would've figured out that she was aroace. listen, just. She Gives The Vibes

Jack carries around a small cat plush. it was meant to be a gift for Dee on her birthday. now, he uses it as a reminder of why he's doing all of this.

as far as Jack's concerned? Henry messed with the wrong fucking family

Jack worked as a nightguard and technician at Fredbear's prior to Dee's murder

Jack's always had some...problems. the guy's an open transmasc in the 60s/70s, autistic and not at all interested in masking too much, and was bullied a lot in childhood. mix in his parents (who he was Really close to) dying unexpectedly right before college, leaving him to care for a small child way before he was ready, and a drinking and smoking problem? yeah...you can probably guess that, by the time he was working at Fredbear's, He Was Probably A Little...Short-Tempered, So To Say.

Peter, as a Phone Guy, recognized Jack, but couldn't tell how he recognized him.

even without knowing who Jack was, he sort of subconsciously went straight back into Older Brother Mode (fucking around with and teasing Jack, getting upset when Jack smokes (because he didn't like Jack risking his health even Remotely), and being more Lenient with Jack's screw-ups, unlike Steven, to name a few)

having more thoughts about Peter, Steven, and Henry working together in that one location, because i can't stop thinking about it (and have two posts about it)

have some headcanons:

so. Henry and Peter already knew each other. i mean, How Could They Not? the thing is that Peter kinda Transed His Gender (transfem bigender) since they last saw each other, and the most she could express it at the time was by growing her hair out, wearing eyeliner, and painting his nails a bit. so y'know. a Lot happened.

Peter also sued Henry, but i'm sure that's nothing to worry about :)

Steven vaguely recognizes Henry, but he can't remember from where. he creeps Steven out, though, so he keeps interactions with Henry at a minimum.

Peter and Steven got along pretty well.

Peter had no issues being passive aggressive with Henry about the Jack stuff. like "How have you been doing these past several years?" "Oh just fine, except for the fact you, idk, Claimed My Brother Was A Murderer :) Because That Was A Thing You Did :)" Steven just stayed out of it. what the fuck was he even supposed to say to most of that?

Peter was like. passively suicidal at this point, as well as struggling heavily with depression. he'd try to joke about it to lighten the mood a bit, but it just worried the fuck out of Steven ("what are you looking for with this job?" "(deadpan) idk but a will to live would be nice. Also Cash")

she had a breakdown about her dead siblings in front of Henry, And I'm Sure That Henry's Definitely Not Gonna Use That Against Him Later Down The Line (eyes the Dsaf 3 Henry Fight nervously)

Peter kept in touch with Jack often during this time. Jack warned him about Henry, about the fact that tragedy followed that man wherever he went. Peter brushed it off at the time. she can take care of herself, after all.

Caroline would often drop Peter off at work since they only had one car at the time

Peter talked about Caroline a lot. she was very much a "world cold and hard, wife soft and warm" type of person. he loves his wife <3

Steven once asked if he was straight or a lesbian, and Peter just answered 'yes.' he doesn't know, and he's too tired to figure it out.

when he discovered Peter was dead, Steven. Did Not Take It Well. he almost instinctively knew that Henry did it, but. he didn't know how he knew. he just went to cry for a while because This Was The First Time (since he died) That He Had Gotten This Close To Someone And Lost Them Like That. It Was A Lot To Process

Caroline also had a hunch it was Henry. and it's part of the reason she didn't want to dig too much deeper into this whole mess than was necessary. Dee died at Henry's diner. Jack died (once) in Henry's diner and also got framed for child murder. and now Peter's missing. there's a saying, after all. "Once is chance, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern."

every place that her family has gone, where Henry also happens to be? tragedy has followed them all in some way soon afterwards.

and she'd like her son to grow up with at least one of his parents.

(yes, i am giving Peter a son again. because i can)

Little headcanon of the day I like to think Jack's blood is brownish leaning towards black bc the whole rotting thing while Dave's dark too but Very Clearly Purple.

i have quite a few fics, but a couple that i have that i regularly(ish) update are:

A Prologue: you could consider this an au, maybe, but it's effectively a bunch of headcanons and a few canon divergences here and there. as the title suggests, it's a prologue of sorts for Dsaf, taking place before the events of the game. not done yet, but it's going well so far!

in my brother's shadow: basically a collection of things i write for my au "Brother's Shadow," which is pretty much an au where Jack dies before Dee does, Dee witnesses it, and then she and Dave (who's trying to fix things and make up for what he did) team up to Save The Kids. Henry's still alive. shenanigans ensue. we get some Dave and Dee bonding, and Dee and Matt become friends. still writing things for this, but it's taking a bit of a backseat for now.

well! still mostly in the Dee kinshift right now, so!!

allow me to ramble about Jack and Dave for a minute :]

Jack wasn't perfect. i'll admit it. then again, dude was like. twenty two. with a multitude of other issues (we were fucking poor, i'm like pretty sure that even then he was struggling mental health wise, and i'm pretty sure that even if those two things Weren't an issue, A Twenty-Two Year Old Probably Ain't Ready To Care For A Child All By Themself). but in my eyes, he was doing his best. he made me my Springbonnie plush himself. like, he took a picture of that robot and sewed that. was it perfect? to most people it wouldn't be. but i fucking loved that thing. comfort item 👍

Dave and I's relationship was. Complicated. on one hand, we were pretty chill with each other pre-my death, and even then, I Could Tell Dave Wanted Nothing To Do With My Murder (doesn't change the fact that he still kinda. Helped With It. but y'know). also knew about the whole Henry Decided To Do Some Literal Mindfuckery (only reason i didn't do anything was because I Was Fucking Trapped In A Box And The Closest Thing I Could Do To Leaving Was Astral Projection, And Even Then I Couldn't Even Control When It Happened), and i didn't like it!! i felt bad for him i'll be real!! offered to help him out if he'd help me out (he didn't; he was too scared of Henry. can't blame him there tbh).

where it gets complicated is The Rest Of The Child Murder. And Other Bullshit.

but y'know what? i think he definitely redeemed himself. he wanted to fix things. make up for what he did. and i think he was doing pretty well :]

also saved my life in the Flipside, so y'know that probably swayed my opinion a little bit (came from the Good Route, Legacy Jack showed up for some reason and Nearly Killed Me (idk how this happened, but there always Was some Timeline Fuckery in my memories), and Dave just kinda stayed with me until Our Jack showed up)

he and Jack also flirted A Lot in the Flipside. i think i jokingly told them to get a room like. five separate times.

writing the next fic chapter!! boy, writing Dee and Dave interactions post-The Murder is. So Heartbreaking.

Dee understands that Dave is scared of Henry more than Dave does himself.

Dave desperately wants to make it up to Dee, but the only thing she really wants is to leave the diner and be free.

but Dave is too scared. too scared of what Henry will do to him if he cuts the strings off of Dee.

Dee offers to kill him. rid them both of a problem. Dave won't have to be scared anymore if the thing he's scared of is dead, right?

but as far as Dave's concerned, Henry and the diner are all he has left. if he loses them, he has nothing.

Dee offers to let him stay with her, Peter, and Caroline once they both get out. she'll explain everything! she'll let them know that Dave is trying to apologize!

but Dave knows that's not how it works. he's done something he can't apologize for. if he can't forgive himself, why would he expect anyone else to?

it's just. :(

Dave just wants to make things right, but making things right means that he's either going to piss Henry off (< the last thing he wants), or lose the only things he has left in his life.

and the only thing Dee wants is her murderer to be dead and for her to be free, which is what she's telling Dave is practically the only way she can even consider forgiving him at this point.

it's a sad situation all around

here we go! i've mentioned some of these in other posts before, but!! i'll put them here, too. also with a bit of Henry and Davesport sprinkled in, because why not:

i base Dave and a lot of his behaviors off of snakes: he can swallow things whole, he came from an egg, etc.

Dave has dark purple blood.

Dave can purr and have his pupils dilate like a cat's.

Dave's tail wags like a dog when he's happy.

Dave has claws on his fingers, and one of his nervous habits back when he was with Henry was to grab and claw at his arms when stressed. Not The Greatest, As You Can Imagine!

Dave would accidentally call Henry "dad" on occasion. Henry's reaction would either be Entirely Neutral, or he'd nearly make Dave cry.

Dave would never 100% admit it to himself, but he's scared of Henry.

Jack actually worked a bit at the diner before Dee and his' deaths. he may or may not be the reason Dave figured out that he wasn't straight.

due to some of the Literal Mind Fuckery (as i call it), Dave started to forget Jack more and more. Henry certainly didn't help by gaslighting him.

Dave felt bad about what happened to Dee, but he didn't know a lot of ways to help her that wouldn't also, y'know, Piss Off Henry.

by the time the first two games are happening, Dave can't tell if he loves Jack or hates him. like, does he want to kiss him or does he want to kill him??

he feels as though he remembers Jack, but can't remember from where.

Dave has nightmares about his time at the diner, but doesn't want to acknowledge them.

he doesn't remember any of the surgeries (Henry would typically knock him out before hand), and thus isn't 100% sure why his heart is gone

Dave is nonbinary, but doesn't really care. his philosophy on gender is "I Don't Have Enough Time To Care About This Shit." would probably use it/its pronouns if he knew they existed, though. so i guess you could say his pronouns are he/it, if you wanted. mostly only uses he/him, though

that's about it, tbh. i'm sure i have more, but these are the only ones coming to mind.
