download! credits: aikea-guinea for mesh and textures (jacket, sweater, boots, jeans), azaya for the cross patterned tights. The patches, buttons and remaining tights I have no idea, I saved them ages ago resized down really small so I can’t reverse look-up with google. :( If you recognize anything and know the source, let me know and I will add it right away.

Folks mentioned needing AM outerwear and hey so do I, so I made some. Though I use the term “made” very, very loosely. All I did was add femme tights, patches and buttons to the jacket, change the shirt texture to colorful sweaters, and swap out the union jack boots for plain. They’re redundant as hell, otherwise, and very specific to my own game aesthetic. If you’re not into overtly queer pastel goth stuff, you’re better off skipping these.

(Oh, also, they’re just for outerwear, not any other categories. Mesh included as usual.)

installing ts2 on my birthday laptop and figuring out the basic graphics fixes but my god i have been away for ~10 years...there is SO MUCH i am so intimidated omg like do i want to do reshade and sky fix and is this too much and should i completely redo my mods and everything but also i am so worried i can't find anything to fit my aesthetic because again....it's been 10 years so i should keep what i have but also iirc it was such a dang mess and omg!!!! mind is running but no thoughts are coming through

Sim Shadow Fix

This mod fixes Sims’ shadows shown as black rectangles. Originally, correctly rendered Sims’ shadows have a blue tint. This mod makes the shadows achromatic. You may use this mod even if your game has no problems with rendering shadows.

Update (2 Jan 2016): Added the reallyNotMisty version. See the known issues section.

The mod also works with The Sims: Life Stories, The Sims: Castaway Stories and The Sims: Pet Stories.

There are three versions which differ in the opaque (see the screenshot below) – choose only one.

Restoring shadows

You probably have turned (Sims’) shadows off, when a problem with black rectangles occurred. To make this mod useful you have to turn them back on. Here’s how to do it: In the game, set the Lighting setting in Graphics/Performance Options to high. If you still cannot see Sims’ shadows, in Graphics Rules.sgr (in [Latest EP/SP folder or basegame folder if you don’t have any EPs or SPs]\TSData\Res\Config) find option Shadows. This is what you’d see:

You have to delete boolProp simShadows false and boolProp simShadows off from userStartup.cheat (in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 (or The Sims™ 2 Ultimate Collection)\Config) too, if this file exist and these lines are in it.

Known issues

Sim shadows overlap and cut simetimes, but it isn’t caused by the mod.

If you have downloaded simNopke-simShadowFix0.# and Sims’ shadows in your game are misty, try out simNopke-simShadowFix0.#reallyNotMisty instead. That bug may occur on some Intel HD graphics cards.
