Or actually just a proud, protective father and his cute, open-hearted son :) Not much here to say except that I got to try a new technique for shading and am quite happy about the results.

Oh, and I'm trying out a hc with the "light of Valinor" that so prominently is said to dwell in all Valinor-born elves (first had Tyelpe without it so I could better showcase the difference, but then I looked it up and he was not born later in Beleriand so eh). Elves born in the West get light pupils from me, a reflection of the trees and an inflection, actually. In daytime, the light in their eyes would be silver and golden at night, reminiscent of Telperion and Laurelin. Maybe they had somehow absorbed the tree light as they grew up. After the Noldor's flight, perhaps that even granted them some semblance of familiarity to what was lost and some comfort at gazing into their loved ones' eyes.

Of course, without the trees and the Valar's blessings, that kind of light lingered in the ones that had come from Valinor, but their children, born in Middle-Earth, would not inherit it and so even that small reminder of the Era of Trees was slowly forgotten. Few Eldar possess these tree-lit eyes anymore, but imagine the shock of the first new parents in Beleriand to see their children's dark pupils and maybe believe the Valar had not only forsaken them (which most had made their peace with) but their innocent descendants as well.

🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)

Hitan’s 42 years old (left) ; when he was in his twenties and early thirties (right) he was the guitarist/leader of a pretty popular metal band ^_^

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

He’s a fashion designer up front, but he’s also a classical pianist and composer, but nowadays his guitar playing is more of a hobby. He also collects records of niche bands.

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

I took a lot from my favorite musicians for his design, he’s a melting pot of influences😭 Mainly the bands Dead End and Judas Priest, more in terms of themes around the music over visuals though 😅

there are some thing that make Celebrimbor very important okay. he's an only child he hates sleeves when he was eight, he saw his great-grandfather's corpse, (the first of many) because this wasn't the kind of thing that happened and no one around realized that children aren't supposed to see that kind of thing. he was supposed to be like his father. he was so much better he was so much worse he was his father's greatest dissappointment, the rebel son, he created things that no other elf could have ever made. he tried to see the best in someone made from flames and brightness and he ended up only seeing the good he wanted to. he spent centuries befriending a fiend, he soent decades susoecting his best friend of crimes that were real. he was killed by someone he loved. he was an example. he was the exception. he was one-of-a-kind. he was just like the rest of his family. he was dealt a really,really bad hand. he tried to run away from his family's legacy but didnt know that really, that isn't the kind of thing you walk away from. he's gay.

I like to imagine that Celebrimbor was, to his very foundation, a fairly morally gray character. I do not like to imagine him as this pure kind man who just wanted to uplift middle earth for selfless reasons. He was never that different from the rest of his family. he was, in many ways, selfishly chasing glory and greatness and carried himself with immense pride at his own skills.

Although like most people does, he did not believe his ambitions to be selfish of course, just like Sauron, he truly believed that his vision were the best for everyone. But it was both his vision and pride that attracted Sauron to him; they had similar ambitions, although imagined different outcomes.

Celebrimbor never wanted to rule over all of middle earth as Sauron did, but he wanted to uplift it, change it to his image and bask in the glory of having created it. And I think one of the things that truly haunted him after realizing Sauron's trickery, is just how alike the two of them were, and how close he got to fulfilling Sauron's dream, because it was so alike his own.
