Sammi Gee
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Samantha Gee, 3rd Year, Human Development major with a minor in public health
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Hand Pulled noodles :D I’ve always liked noodles, but hand pulled noodles gotta be my favorite type just because I like how thick and chewy they are.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think in my opinion just giving one another support and appreciation to each other because in the end it’s nice to know that theres a shoulder to lean on when times are tough. Plus it’s always good to know that theres someone out there that appreciates and cares about you :)
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. I tend to get overwhelmed easily when pressure is high, so the best advice that was given to me was when doing an assignment/task, break it up into pieces (like a cookie!) so it’s not as overwhelming :)
5. What are three things on your bucket list? 1) See the Northern Lights 2) Eat hand pulled noodles from the Korean street vendor I had back in 2019 (I miss it T.T) 3) Go snorkeling in Hawaii
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? Always mispronouncing words iykyk
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? Connie because I’m her biggest fan
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Sleep LOL just a period where we can take a nap or something :D
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I feel like because I’m quiet, I assume people think I’m really quiet and boring but actually, it just takes me awhile to open up to someone and feel comfortable to be myself. I promise I have a personality 😫
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Most of my life I’ve been shy, I missed out on a lot of opportunities. I let myself get in the way of my goals and never been the one to go outside my comfort zones. Every now and then I wonder what my life would have been like if I had pushed myself to at least try. There's a lot of things that I wanted to do growing up, but I’ve always had self-doubts about whether I would even make it so that would lead me to not even apply for internships, jobs, or even schools. Very broad regret, but it’s been something that has made a pretty strong impact on my life. If I was given the opportunity to still apply to those programs now, I don’t think it would still be relevant now, but if I were to go back in time during those decisions, I think I would take that chance. I think my life would have been a lot more different, because I wouldn’t have hesitated back then on goals. For example, I realized pretty late that I wanted to pursue nursing. Nursing was a dream job, but it was such a dream job that I never considered it as an actual career choice. If I had actually considered it in the beginning, I would have definitely gone to a different school that specializes in nursing, but nevertheless, I don’t regret attending Davis (fun fact:I forgot I applied here :p). Anyway, thanks for reading and special shoutout to xpressions chair for my (very very) late submission <3

Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Kelly Zhu, 3rd year, Psychology Major + Human Development Minor ;D
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Seafood kimchi tofu soup bc i never get tired of it and you can always change up the ingredients hehe
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Reciprocated communication bc if the energy isn’t reciprocated in fun and serious conversations, then idk if it’s a good connection.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Do things for yourself and not for others. I used to be very dependent and would always think about what people thought of me but now idc LOL kekekekee
5. What are three things on your bucket list? I want to (1) Dye my hair (2) Marry Even Jaeger (3) Learn how to swim lololol
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I want to be famous for makeup and fashion hehe lol
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? MIKASA from attack on titan so i can kiss eren jaeger
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? How to not die at a rave
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I’m not an abg
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I regret being selfish during the summer of 2019 because I would always stay out late and party with my friends. My parents would always be so worried about me and I did really bad things that made them lose trust in me. My relationship with them during that time was really rocky and my siblings started to behave differently around me. At that point in time, I felt really alone because I didn’t know who was truly there for me if my family wasn’t. So I would escape and go party/rave almost every day. I do think that it was one of my best summers because I had lots of fun, but the consequence of having my parents hate me makes me really regretful. I’m not sure if I would change much because I personally think it helped me become who I am today. But I would regret how I treated my parents.

Christine Yee
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Christine Yee, 4th year Microbiology major, GDB & Human Development double minor
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I’d eat soup noodles!! Soup noodles are so versatile and you can literally eat some variation of it at any meal.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think it would be something along the lines of effort. Making relationships and friendships work is a continual choice made by both parties and it definitely takes effort to make those choices and to decide to put time into the relationship/friendship.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. The best advice I’ve heard that I can actively recall is actually from The Office (: “There are always a million reasons not to do something.”
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Travel to Australia, attend a lantern festival, and adopt or foster a pet.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I think I’d want to be famous for something that I invent. I’d be famous and a genius :’)
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would probably swap lives with my younger self from before the age of 5, assuming that I get to retain my current 21 year old consciousness. I want to be able to experience my family dynamic and living situation during that time in my life since children don’t remember anything before the age of 5.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Life Skillz 101. Gotta learn how to adult :’)
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I think people can misunderstand my willingness to give my time or my indifference toward something as being someone who is easily pushed over. I feel that I’ve definitely been much better about saying no and setting boundaries since coming to college, but I do my best to also treat everyone with kindness and respect and I worry at times that it comes off as me being unable to stand up for myself.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I very much regret the way that I’ve interacted with and treated some people in my life. My mom first noticed and told me early on in high school that I don’t seem to deal with stress as well as I initially appear to. She pointed out that when I’m stressed I tend to seal myself off to others, seemingly dropping social aspects of my life, and ultimately pushing away people who are important to me. I never really realized the truth in her words (moms are always right btw, so listen to your mother!!), until I relatively recently ruined relationships with people who I value through a lack of interaction and general care for our relationship. In a sense, in times of stress where I’ve felt the pressures of school, extracurriculars, family, COVID, and life in general, I’ve neglected and in turn damaged relationships with people that I actually do very much care about.
If given the opportunity, I would no doubt change what happened. I think change in a positive direction could only bring about good to relationships where doubt and apprehension were previously introduced. Being able to change what happened would definitely help the nature of the relationship today. On the flip side, I also understand this situation as a learning opportunity and wouldn’t want to change the valuable lessons that I’ve learned from it. I’ve learned much more about myself and I think if anything that’s the first step to change because as we all know, we can’t go back in time (unfortunately).

Christopher Hackett
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Christopher Hackett 5th year Cognitive Sciences
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? It's definitely a burrito. Because burritos are joy wrapped into a tortilla.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Communication–Periodtttt
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Nichos mom used to tell Nicho that the only person you should compare yourself to is yourself from the past. So I guess Nicho’s mom gave me the advice? Nicho turned out alright. idk ask Nicho about it?
5. What are three things on your bucket list? I wanna ride in a convertible with my hair blowing in the wind. Kiss someone I love in a boat on a lake while it's raining and I wanna know what it's like to be the coolest girl in school.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I'd want something I said in passing to go viral
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap lives with Crystal so she could actually get things done for once
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Movie/ tv show analysis
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? Everything you think you know about me you don't. I am incomprehensible. An enigma of the mind.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Honestly I regret not playing sports in middle and high school. I like sports. I think they're fun, but I'm not that competitive. I used to play baseball in the 3rd grade and I wasn’t that great, but I wasn't terrible. Looking back at that time it was overall positive. But when I got to 5th grade, I had a bad coaching experience and it changed sports for me ever since. I tried out for the baseball team 3 years in a row in middle school and I was good enough to make the team each year, but I was too nervous to attend any more than the first practice. I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to keep up, I’d get yelled at, or embarrassed by my lack of ability. Sometimes I look back and think that if I had toughed it out and got over my fear, I would have been a much stronger person overall.I feel like there are a lot of soft skills to gain from being on a sports team that I missed out on, like teamwork, competitiveness and resolve. Although I regret not playing in the past I know it's not too late to start. I really appreciate that in our fraternity we have a lot of active events that give me the chance to be competitive again and I hope to get more opportunities to be active in the future.

Sean Aralar
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Sean Aralar, 1st Year, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I personally would enjoy stuffing my face in with some good ol’ Dennys. I’m looking at you, Grand Slam.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Open communication. It genuinely makes or breaks a relationship– while I do understand full on lying to keep face, honestly if someone wants to hear the truth let them have it. Because they want to be honest, and they want honesty as well, that’s something that must be reciprocated.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. You can teach someone how to cook, but you can not teach someone how to be motivated. I was applying for summer jobs within my hometown– I gotta make some money for college and all and totally not save for some new headphones that cost a hundo. Basically, there was this Asian fusion food near the hospital my mom works at, and I thought “sick, a place where I can eat after I volunteer”. I walked in, gave my resume, and showed off the food handler’s card that I carry around in case I want to impress that nonexistent person about my total dedication to food safety. I got a call back and an interview: we talked for a bit about my interest and after hearing about how I was genuinely interested in learning the recipes to the foods being sold at the restaurant, the mans literally smiled and laid upon me the quote that haunts me in my sleep. It… it personally is something that does haunt me. Every day, I wake up thinking about it and reflecting on what I did yesterday. Did I spend my time effectively? Did I do the things I had to do? It is a personal challenge for me to be dedicated to maintaining high grades while balancing my own personal life, and the quote pushes me to achieve that.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Living at the cost of living with enough to fuel my hobbies Laughing alongside friends and catching up with them Loving myself for who I am
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? Let me be known for my decent writing skills and acting chops.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I wanna see what happens in Gen Urobushi’s head. Man’s either super into seeing people’s reactions or super demented. Or both really.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Dude. Teach people about finances in high school.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? Bro, why does my hair and eyes make me look like I’m plotting revenge? On one hand, it’s super funny. On the other hand, it’s not me.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I regret not getting the 8 hours of sleep last Sunday as of writing this. Have you seen my Facebook post on the Fellowship page? “hurdur look at me visit me from 9AM-10AM to 9AM-closing” I say, down 2 shots of espresso and 3 cups of matcha green tea from Trader Joes. But that is the sacrifice I want to make to just catch up on my diddly-darn classes if I must. In fact, I want to emphasize RIGHT NOW that the people reading this should stop procrastinating and actually take care of the business that you’ve been letting collect dust for about 10 seconds now whilst you speak with your friends at the CoHo. I personally wished I got the sleep because guess what? Few days ago I passed out at 10PM and woke up at 6AM feeling like the absolute king of the world. I felt like Alexander the Great after his recent conquest if I take my multivitamin gummies. And you KNOW I take my vitamin C because I don’t want to get myself scurvy out in the cold and unforgiving Northern California. Honestly, I regret the times I would stay in my dorms and I should probably start going out a bit more. BUT at the same time I love spending time alone and find it very fun watching Conan clips and laughing to myself like a maniac. Is it sad? Yeah, definitely. But is it something I’m much more comfortable with and much more peaceful? Absolutely.

1. Name, Year, Major Natsuki Kato, 3rd year, Biotechnology major  Trainer Group: Cabbage Savages
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Good Italian pizza. Can’t get sick of thin-crust pizza.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Consistency. Consistent communication and care is important.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. It’s okay to distance yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in conflict or get overwhelmed, it's okay to step back.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Live in multiple countries. Sky-diving. Attend a music festival and have fun.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I would want to be famous and popular amongst a small group of people. I would want to be remembered for the memories I shared with them.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? Zendaya. Really want to experience what it's like to be really tall.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Class teaching students about tax and law.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? People think I'm bubbly, but I don’t really think I am.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Learning more languages as a kid. I didn’t really take language classes seriously and I feel like I could have been better at English, Japanese and Spanish if I paid more attention while my language acquisition was high. I know it is not too late to start learning about them but I feel like it is a missed opportunity because I had the resources to be proficient in those languages. On a similar note, I wish I had taken school more seriously and that I had a healthy approach to it. I think starting high school, I fixated on the letter grades that I received that I started to form unhealthy study habits, like pulling 3 all nighters in a roll and not allowing myself to have enough social/family time, which eventually lead to a burnout. I’m still in the process of recovering from the burnout and don't think my study habits back then were sustainable. If I could go back to high school, I would definitely modify my study habits and work towards a balanced school and social life. Something else I regret doing is how I used to get really mad at my parents. I think towards the end of high school when school started becoming more stressful, I used to take it out on them. If I could go back to them, I would tell myself that the frustrations are temporary and that moving out and having distance from them will eventually help me realize how grateful I should be towards them.

3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Communication
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. To not apologize or feel bad for putting myself/my mental health first
5. What are three things on your bucket list? I don’t have one
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? My art
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? My parents so they could take a break from constantly working hard
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Non-eurocentric history
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you?  I don’t like designing lol
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Something I regret doing is not having the confidence or believing in myself to do certain things. For example, I didn’t take certain classes in high school because I didn’t think I was smart enough. Looking back, I felt like I always sold myself short because I didn’t think I was good enough. I wish I had just a little extra confidence and I think that would’ve been so helpful to me. I wouldn’t change anything though because I feel like every decision I’ve made has impacted me in some way and I wouldn’t be who I am if I changed something.

2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I would eat Yakisoba because I can eat it every day and not get sick of it. Yakisoba is very yummy. I usually make it with bok choy, cherry tomatoes, and some kind of meat. It’s really nice you should try it sometime!
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Communication/Transparency
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Failure isn’t a dead-end, it’s just a slight deviation from your path but in the end, you’ll reach your goal one way or another. As long as you stay determined and believe in your own abilities.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? I wanna skydive, travel, and get a motorcycle.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? Acting in theater.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? It would be with Cristiano Ronaldo because he seems really great.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? Human rights / Human wrongs! It’s a class here at Davis (HMR 001) and it remains my favorite class I’ve ever taken I took it during my first year. I would want what I learned in that class to be taught in high school even though it was very graphic.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I think people might think I’m very serious or reserved, I am more so the latter but can let loose if I’m feeling particularly rambunctious or in a silly goofy mood!

Isabella Lee
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Isabella Lee, 2nd Year, NPB
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I would eat pho because it is a meal that reminds me of home and I crave it often.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think that effort is the most important thing in a relationship/friendship because without an equal amount of effort being put in by people, a relationship could die pretty quickly.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Don’t be afraid to let go of things because life is always changing anyways.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Spend a year traveling, go skydiving, fix my sleep schedule
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? For my driving
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap lives with Emma Chamberlain because her life seems very interesting and eventful for someone her age.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? I would create an adulting class (how to do taxes. cook. etc)
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I think a lot of people mistake my happy personality for me being happy all the time when in reality, i stressed asf.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Something I regret doing is not talking to and hanging out with my little brothers as much before going to college. I think I sort of took their presence for granted and didn’t put in any effort to be more present in their lives because I thought that if I didn’t get along with them when we were younger, we still wouldn’t get along now. Now that I’m in college and away from them, it feels weird not being able to talk to them and hear about their lives.

Trina Lim
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Trina Lim, 1st year, Biological sciences Trainer Group: The Airbending Baldies
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I could probably eat rice porridge with chicken for like forever, plus a side of veggies please. I dunno, rice is really good and I could never give that up, and I’d have to have some protein so chicken will suffice. I feel like I've always eaten vegetables, so I can’t break that, and eat your veggies for your health :)
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think being real in a friendship is the most important thing, like nothing fake. Cause if you see the true them then you can really tell if you completely vibe with them. And if they are not fake to you, then most likely you can be the most true to yourself, so yay to good friends.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. I can’t really recall a time when I was straight up given advice (other than APO interviews lmao), but I feel like I've been told to try harder at some point in my life, probably in sports or something. But, honestly it's pretty good advice, like giving no bs and straight up telling me to just put in more effort. I think just trying really hard in school or really anything will get you pretty far.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Travel to any country in asia and eat, get into medical or DO school, get a tattoo
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I’d want to be famous for something stupid but iconic, like Bill Nye. He’s pretty reputable for being smart, but he’s also iconic and I'd say helps people learn.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? Hehe, I'd probably swap lives with someone from admissions or something, and so I can accept my own application (but that’d be cheating). You know, maybe god, so I can judge everyone for their sins and what not, but also so I can know all of the tea.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? UH, I would teach how to take a break, because students do not need more information to memorize.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I guess I'm introverted, so people might think that I'm totally quiet until they get to know me, which is kind of the definition of an introvert.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I think I regret not getting out of my comfort zone in high school because I probably missed out on a lot of opportunities to grow, or just be a different person. I focused too much on my education and extracurriculars that I didn’t engage in other things. Now that I am meeting more people and hearing about their life experiences or things they do in their free time I feel a little envious, because I wish I had the ability to put myself out there. I feel like I could be more comfortable if I was more extroverted and exuded my energy without really caring what other people think. I guess college brings many more opportunities for me to do this, but school is hard and I get too tired to try :((. It's the end of my first year, and I didn’t take too many risks. However I don’t think I would change that, just because it's completely fine to be introverted and absorbed in school. I think I put too much emphasis on finding your personality in high school, and what you establish is who you will be. But that isn’t true, and in the long run, I have a lot of time left and am still in the process of being independent and learning who I am. But I am trying to change a little, I mean I never expected to join a fraternity, and honestly I have been having a lot of fun getting a little bit out of my comfort zone through APO.

Matthew Chan
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Matthew Chan, Freshman, Science and Technology (STS) Trainer Group: The Airbending Baldies
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? I would eat hot pot for the rest of my life because there is always a variety of foods and because I love eating hot pot with family and friends.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think the number one most important thing in a relationship or friendship is being honest with each other and communicating with each other at all times.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Always be nice!
5. What are three things on your bucket list? To travel the world, to eat good food, and to play basketball professionally one day.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? If I was famous, I would want to be famous for playing basketball extremely well.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? If I could swap lives with someone, it would be Stephen Curry because I could play basketball, golf, be famous, play for the Warriors, and you know hang out with Ayesha Curry.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? If I could create a whole new subject in school, I would create a gaming class so that I end up playing with my friends.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I think something which people misunderstand about me is that I am quiet because after you get to know me, I am pretty loud and noisy.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Something that I definitely do regret doing was not going to the winter formal during my junior year because I thought that we were going to have to prom, but then covid hit. If I was able to do it all over again, I would definitely go out and do it. I honestly would have asked someone to go with me if I had known that covid was going to strike because originally I already had people in mind to ask to prom, but prom never happened so I never got to ask. I had a great idea for a poster and pickup line which was cheesy, but it was extremely creative and yet it was pretty good. I would want to do it because I have never been to a dance with in high school and I would love to go if I had the chance. Covid made me realize to take more chances and get out of my comfort zone because I was pretty introverted growing up. I think another thing I regret not going to boat dance when they had during my sophomore and freshman year. After my sophomore year they canceled it because the boat was destroyed and it cost a lot of damage so they were unable to continue it. I heard that it was extremely fun and that people had a blast on the boat, but it is also something that I regret not going to because I was too nervous and too scared.

Mirna Mejia Munguia
Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major Mirna Mejia Munguia, 3rd Year Human Development and Psychology Double Major Trainer Group: The Airbending Baldies
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? My mom’s pozole! It's huge comfort food native to Mexico. My mom cooks it whenever I'm sick, for special occasions, or for my birthday.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? Good communication. Without it, everything else gets thrown out the window because there will be misunderstandings, arguments, and conflicts without resolution.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. The best advice someone has given me is “to be unapologetically yourself. You are the only person responsible for yourself for the rest of your life, so make sure you're happy and make decisions to make you happy, even if they hurt at first.”
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Go skydiving, travel the world, and buy a house for my parents.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I'd love to be famous for modeling! I always wanted to be a model/ fashion designer as a kid, and it translates now to creating cute outfits.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap lives with Valentina Voight, my favorite lingerie designer. I'd love to have a day designing clothes, sewing, and marketing my brand. She’s super cool about that.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? I would teach inclusive Sex Ed starting in kindergarten. Kindies would be taught the names of body parts, and the curriculum would build up every year. Children deserve to be informed about their bodies and processes if we want to have fully healthy communities.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? People don't understand that I'm a very sensitive person, despite my tough-looking exterior. I'm very approachable and will keep and hold any secret you entrust me with. I'm very loyal as well.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not?
I regret giving people more chances than they deserve. I usually try to see the best in people. I provide a lot of second, third, fourth, fifth chances, etc., where they may not be deserved. People have taken advantage of my kindness in the past. It's been a hard lesson to learn that not everyone will love as hard as I will, and not everyone will appreciate the love given to them, even if they're the ones benefitting the most from it. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and try my best to explain their actions when they mistreat me. It's a bad habit.
I’ve had to learn how to let go of people even if I love them. If given the opportunity, I would still love them the same. I’d probably just leave earlier to save myself the disappointment. It’s funny because I think about them all the time and I don't wish them bad things. If anything, I hope I helped them learn something as well. I believe that even if people didn't appreciate the love you gave them, at some point, they needed it. I have a lot of love to offer. I'm renewed with  it every single day. I don't believe saying I love you often loses its meaning or that being randomly kind is a waste of energy. I never regret giving the love I did. I just need to learn who to thoroughly and adequately give my love to.

Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major My name is Brenda Tran and I am a 4th year Biological Sciences major. Trainer Group: The Airbending Baldies
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? If I could eat a meal for the rest of my life, I would eat Wagyu beef. I tried it in Las Vegas for the first time and it was the best quality of meat I’ve ever had. It’ll make me broke, but at least I’ll be broke and happy.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think empathy is the most important thing in a relationship or friendship. Everyone has a story to tell and having empathy for others is very important when it comes to building relationships of all kinds.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. Someone told me once that “money does buy happiness” and I agree with that. I feel like when rich people are sad, they buy lots of things.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? The three things on my bucket list are eating all the uni I can in one sitting, building a cat mansion for Sooya , and raising chickens and baby goats when I retire.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I want to be a famous mukbang vlogger. I get to eat all the good food I want AND I get paid to do it.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would like to swap lives with my cat because I wanna know what she does when no one’s home and what she’s thinking. Does she love me as much as I love her? Why is she such a brat every once in a while? I have so many questions.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? A new subject that should be taught in school is “how to handle spicy foods”. I feel like everyone should have the opportunity to build their spice tolerance or strengthen their tolerance.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? Typically people assume that I am super innocent and that I haven’t done much. So when I say I did something crazyyyy, people get surprised. I don’t really mind too much though because I think their surprised faces are funny.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I regret being mean to my mom when I was younger. I think about it every once in a while because she is such an important person in my life that I could never live without. The regret really kills me. She was my support system and someone I could always rely on. She sacrificed so much for me in order to give me the life that I have. Yet, I was a b-word to her in high school. She was strict on me and I thought she would never understand me, but our arguments were actually because I never tried to understand her. If I was given the opportunity to change my relationship with her, I 100% would. I would want her to feel loved and appreciated for her hard life raising me and my siblings. I would tell her I love her everyday as a teenager and do things that would make her happier. I wish I had the patience I have now back when we were constantly fighting. I hope that my mom would never have to cry ever again because she was disappointed in me. As I grew older, I began to learn more about her and began building patience in my relationship with her. Our relationship has changed drastically and I always call her when I miss her. Her birthday is actually coming up and I plan to take her out shopping and eat a nice dinner with my family. Although she still nitpicks every little detail about me, I started to think of it as an endearing act of love. She deserves the world and I want to show her how much I love her for the rest of her life. My mom will always be my mom.

1. Name, Year, Major My name is Lauren Gee and I am a Mechanical Engineering major. Trainer Group: The Airbending Baldies
2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? If I could eat a meal for the rest of my life, it would be sushi because there are various options of things you can put in sushi so I feel like I wouldn’t get tired of it easily.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I believe that the number one most important thing in a relationship or friendship is loyalty because I want to be able to rely on them or be supported by them.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. The best advice someone has given to me is not to trust people too easily. My mom advised me this because I tend to overshare about my own life too soon into the friendship/relationship.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Three things that are on my bucket list are sky diving, traveling to Europe or Asian countries, and seeing bioluminescent waves.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? If I were famous, I would like to be famous for inventing a commonly used medical device product.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? If I could swap lives with someone for a day, I would choose Jackie Chan because he was an actor I really enjoyed watching growing up, and his karate skills are top-notch!
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? If I were to create a whole new subject to be taught in school, it would be on how to destress.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? People misunderstand that I only care about school but in reality, I like to go out and have fun as well.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? Something that I really regret is not making the effort to learn Chinese when I was younger. Growing up I went to Chinese school, but never took the effort each week to apply what I learned by speaking Cantonese with my parents. Since I didn’t do this, learning Cantonese was really hard to get used to and I found it hard to keep up with what I was learning each week. I would struggle during each test and learning Chinese would feel more like a chore rather than a great opportunity and a privilege. In addition, my grandparents are only able to speak Cantonese and can barely speak English, so there is a huge language barrier between us. I always regret not putting effort even now to learn Cantonese because the longer I wait, the older they get and it might eventually be too late. I want to be able to have a full conversation with them and hear more about their lives in the past but all I can really ask them is what they had for dinner or how they are doing. It makes me sad every time I think about it but I still have not actively made the effort to learn, but it is something that I am working on. On a less serious note, I want to be able to speak Cantonese so that I can go to Chinese restaurants or stores and order and speak to them in Chinese. Something about being able to speak Chinese to the workers creates a greater bond and closer connection. I also just want to be closely connected with my culture and where I came from.

2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? It would have to be any type of noodle dish! I am a big noodle guy, and growing up, my dad would always take me to get pho, ramen, pasta, you name it, and I loved it everytime.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? I think the most important thing in any relationship is Communication. I feel it is one of the most important skills in life itself. I feel like if there is poor communication between the two, it can cause misunderstandings and frustration.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. I think the best advice I ever received was that, “even if someone acts like a jerk, it doesn’t make it right for you to act like a jerk.” An example could be like, if a customer is acting like a jerk to you, you don’t have to stoop down to their level and act like them, we are better than that. Or like when the car behind you is honking at you, that doesn’t make it okay for you to be mean to them. But I will admit this one time, I heard that in a drive thru, this guy had a jerk behind him, so when he got to the first window, he said he was gonna pay for the guy behind him, and left with his food, so the jerk got nothing, that was good.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? The first thing on my bucket list is to go to Vietnam with my dad. The second thing is to plan a big trip to Japan where my grandparents can go with all their grandkids. And Lastly, I wanna be able to make a difference in someone’s life.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? If I were famous, I would want to be famous for being the nicest guy people have ever met. When people talk about me, I want them to be like, yeah that guy is so sweet.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would wanna swap lives with my pdad Kyle, so that I could drive his Unitrans bus and get him fired >:).
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? I would like to create a mental health class. I don’t know if that’s a real subject honestly, but for me mental health plays a big aspect to everyone’s emotional well-being. I think it would be great that people could be made aware of their health because it can affect how they think, act, and feel around others. And it can also affect how we handle stress and make choices.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? I think people who know me very well always think I am a DC fan over Marvel, but that is not true. I will admit, Marvel makes better movies than DC. I love the first Iron Man, that’s my favorite, but my favorite superhero growing up has always been Batman, that’s why I side with DC. BTW, I love the new Batman with Robert Pattinson.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? I always have regrets, I think everyone does, it’s a part of life. But the one thing that I always regret was when I didn’t live my own life. I think the greatest success lies in living your life your own way. Being the younger sibling, I always compare myself to my older brother. I would do things like him so that I could live up to his standards. In middle school, he was known to be the best golfer in the school, so when I got to middle school, they thought I was really good too. I wasn’t, but I still practiced hard to live up to the standard he set. Or when I went to high school, I became the president of the same club as him, and went to the same college as him, even though that’s not why I chose UC Davis. And along the way, I lost track with who I was, I was starting to act like my brother and not myself. And that’s when I thought, I don’t wanna be remembered as being the guy who copied his older brother, I want to be remembered as me. I am not my brother. Same thing with my grandparents, I volunteer a lot back in Sacramento for my grandma, and when people see me, they call me her grandchild. I laugh it off, but to be honest, that kinda hurts. It’s like I have a name. I’m myself now, I’m behaving like myself, and I am proud of who I am, but whenever I look back at those days in middle school and high school, it always eats at me.

3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? To me, the number one most important thing in a relationship or friendship is respect. I feel like respecting each other is something that is necessary for a long term relationship.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. The best advice someone has given to me is if I were to debate whether if I should do it, then just do it.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Shaving my head bald, Asia trip, Scuba diving
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? I am pretty blind, so I want to be famous for inventing a type of eye surgery for those who have myopia that does not have any side effects.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap life with Spiderman because I really want to shoot out spider webs and swing around places.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? I would create a subject that teaches students about survival skills such as how tax works or how to pay tax as well as Zombie Apocalypse 101.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? One thing that people misunderstand about me is that I might sometimes be a little shy, but I am actually pretty talkative. :)
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? To me, something that I regret doing is not trying different things when I was young. I had many opportunities given to me to try new things such as art, dance, scuba diving, etc. However, I always turned it down because I was either scared of coming out of my comfort zone, greeting new people, or thought that it would not be fun. I feel like if I were to give it a try, I might have really liked and enjoyed some of the things that I never got to try. Even though I can still try new things, I feel like it’s just a lot harder for me to findthe time for it and be able to concentrate while doing it. If I were to be given the opportunity to change it, I would definitely give everything a try because I would never know if I actually liked it or not if I never gave it a try. I feel like I would definitely try to be more open minded about trying new things and give everything a try. However, one thing that I do not regret is that I never gave up on music. I have played the piano ever since I was around six or seven and have continued until today. There were many times when I felt like giving up, but I continued with the support from those around me. I feel like this is something that I would never regret and would never change if given the opportunity of.

2. If you could eat a meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? If I were to eat a meal for the rest of my life it would be Winnie Chen’s Famous Udon Soup because it’s finger-licking good.
3. What do you think is the NUMBER ONE most important thing in a relationship or friendship? The NUMBER ONE most important thing in a friendship is being respectful to one another. Understanding each other's boundaries.
4. What is the best advice someone has given to you? Describe the situation if possible. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. I try to leave negative thoughts behind me and keep living life. Other people’s comments don’t get to me and that gets them angrier, which I like.
5. What are three things on your bucket list? Three things on my bucket list are: going to Japan, going to a Rave, and having my own horse.
6. If you were famous, what would you want to be famous for? If I were to be famous it would be for my clothing haul.
7. If you could swap lives with someone for a day, who would it be and why? If I could swap lives with someone for a day it would be SUGA from BTS so that I can be around all the members at the dance studio. I want to see what they talk about on a regular day and eat with them like one big family.
8. If you could create a whole new subject to be taught in school, what would it be? If I could create a whole new subject to be taught in school it would be an Etiquette class because you never know when you’ll have dinner with the Queen of England.
9. What do people constantly misunderstand about you? People think that I am an introverted person because I tend to stay quiet and not reach out to people but in reality, I am not. I like to observe people for the first couple of days and see if they are the people I want to be around.
10. What is something you regret doing or not doing? Would you change it if given the opportunity? Why or why not? We all have things we regret on a daily bases but there are other major events that keep us thinking about other outcomes or about the what if... For me, I regret being so cold to my younger sister because it really changed our sisterhood relationship. I know she does not view me as her sister and wants nothing to do with me. I mean if I were her I would not want anything to do with the person who hurt me through their harsh words on a daily bases because of jealousy. I would change myself if given the opportunity because I would like for our relationship to be different. I know she is the type of person to keep grudges and has trust issues meaning that our relationship will never be at the loving sister stage. At night I constantly think about my actions and how I got to the point of being so selfish and hurting those who looked up to me and loved me dearly. I believe in karma and I feel like there have been people who have treated me like I  treated my sister and I accept it because I deserve it. In a way, what goes around comes back around.
