why didn't coelacanths(🐟) go extinct and survived for so long??? (At least like 10 years) well. This is because they love you. Because they love so much.,
hammerhead flatworms (Bipaliinae) are in my estimation among the most beautiful terrestrial animals, often sporting bright colors and striking patterns that advertise their toxicity.
bipaliines feed on either worms or land gastropods, tracking the slime trails of prey with their highly sensitive spade- or crescent-shaped head plate.
Southeast Asia is a hotspot for bipaliine diversity, and at least six species can be found in Singapore, all of which I managed to encounter this summer!
disability is just a way people can exist and a way people can be born and a thing that can happen to you. it's a fact of life. it's natural
it's not immoral or a punishment or a sign of evil or an "excuse to be lazy and unmotivated" or a way people use to make other people pity them and give them things. it's not sloth. it's not "impure" and it does not make someone an abomination or a mistake
disability is a normal, natural occurrence and not something people should be punished, starved, abused, abandoned, rejected, excluded, mocked, freak showed, gawked over, isolated, and murdered for
and the system we live in that does this to us is not normal or natural or ok. you don't deserve to be hurt. you don't deserve to have to feel ashamed or like you need to fix or hide yourself or "work harder". you are alive and you deserve to be alive. i'm glad you're alive. i'm glad you exist.
An Extraordinary Macro Timelapse of Aquatic Wildlife by Sandro Bocci
The above clip is a trailer of sorts for an upcoming non-verbal film titled Prograve by Italian filmmaker and documentarist Sandro Bocci. The feature is billed as (translated from Italian) “an experimental film orbiting scientific and philosophical reflections on time and space, and that through various shooting techniques, fields of magnification, and an exciting soundtrack, weaves a web between science and magic.” The section shown here depicts beautiful macro timelapses of coral, sponges and other aquatic wildlife filmed under ultraviolet light. I find it so absurd that for CENTURIES settlers have done everything they possibly could to destroy indigenous cultures and religions and spirituality under the guise of "saving" us and now they're dealing with the consequences of rejecting their own heritages and religious identities and looking at indigenous people to save them from that.
I think instead of saying “It’s safe to assume that Otherkin are not delusional” we could say “Otherkin have the same probability of experiencing delusions as anyone else” or something to that effect because:
Otherkin have a tendency to distance themselves from psychotic people (in an attempt to appear more palatable + respectable to the masses).
🡡 This is rooted in ableism (sanism, more specifically) and reinforces the stigma that psychotic people cannot vouch for their own ontology or experiences.
Psychosis doesn’t make you less respectable, less believable, or less trustworthy and ideas which support otherwise directly contribute to the incessant gaslighting and abuse that psychotic people suffer as a result.
I'm happy to see the idea of "you don't have to categorize yourself you can just be" growing in the therian/otherkin community.
When I first found out about otherkin spaces I always felt fake not being exactly like all the creatures I saw posting. So I'm glad that now young otherkin can see that it's OK to just be. You don't need to know the exact colors and size of your kintype or have past memories or shifts or anything.
And I feel like it opens up more understanding for otherkin/therians like me who just Are their type, all the time. I'm just a werewolf. I don't have anything really past memories or shifts I just am all the time, it's me. It's OK to just be. You don't have to explain yourself to anybody.
don't blow this up but I really sincerely doubt that every aspect of every God is 100% adhering to our current social mores at all times, that its categorically impossible for a God to do something morally wrong in the modern age. people are pushing a very restrictive, moralistic, even puritanical black-and-white narrative about all gods all the time and I'm so sick of it
