This weekend's project was a cherry on top of the cake of Santa Muerte - a new Hardcore mode to leave V robbed and left for dead after resurrection teleports in unsafe areas.
And by robbed, I mean deprived of most inventory items, including those pricey iconic or crafted weapons. There are some safeguards though - Quest items and items marked as not removable (like cyberware) are left alone.
This finally gives a nice penalty for the perk of getting back up after 'dying'. And it gives a good reason to try new weapons or outfits from scavenging the game after waking up robbed.
And to help with scavenging, I updated Diverse Loot to add a chance to drop clothing items for most NPC factions.
In addition from Faction clothes, some factions will also drop related clothing styles: - Mox also drop Punk clothes - Aldecaldos and Wraiths also drop Biker clothes - Animals also drop  Sportswear - Tyger Claws also drop Tiger Claws Biker clothes - 6th street also drop Cowbow clothes - Arasaka agents also drop Corpo clothes - Voodoo Boys also drop Stylish clothes - Maelstrom and Scavs also drop Industrial and Streetwear - Baghest also drop Militech clothes

Another recent project I didn't get to write about yet... Live A Little is one of those mods I had in my head since I started playing Cyberpunk that required first to go through enough mods before I had the foundations I needed to tackle it.
The mod is a collection of edits to major quests in the game to add more breathing room to the main story and encourage exploration without compromising the main narrative.
The main mods edit quest objectives to give a better sense of timing (for quests where you have to show up at a given time). The edits also warn the player about potential points of no return since CPDR doesn't always give you a chance to make some last minute changes before big events.
The quest timers add-ons increase most quest delays I could find from the default hour count to several days.
Funny thing while testing this mod - I am so used to quests showing up immediately one after the other, than having to wait days to hear back from an NPC feels like the mod is broken at first. But it isn't.. it is doing its job and giving you back time to explore.
Trust the changes.. the story will catch up with you eventually.

My quest against the lazy 'Tier 1', 'Tier 2'.. in Cyberpunk 2077 continues.
I updated my Immersive Components mod with these changes:
Item quality: Tier 1 - Worn out  Tier 2 - Second hand Tier 3 - Well maintained Tier 4 - Factory new Tier 5 - Supercharged
Cyberware upgrade: Tier 1 - Street job  Tier 2 - Bio Fitted Tier 3 - Trauma Silver Certified Tier 4 - Trauma Gold Certified Tier 5 - Trauma Platinum Certified
It may sound like a tiny change but these Tier items keep feeling like nails on a chalkboard whenever I saw them.
This mod is more for my peace of mind than anything else...

This is what watching Dragon Dogma 2 videos feels like to me.
The 'medieval english' style of the dialogues feels unnecessarily elaborate and is a huge turn off for me at the moment.
Does it get better when you play the game?

Since Cyberpunk gave ma the week off because patching broke my mods set up again, it was a good time to finish Expedition 12 for No Man Sky.
It was supposed to be an intro expedition for new users, and in many ways it was.
The missions were fun with a little bit of a challenge, but not too much compared to other grueling expeditions.
The rewards included many companion eggs and cool items, Atlas themed backpack, helmet and staff, and most importantly, a very cool looking spaceship.
But the bugs on this one!
Huge lag on most days. Black Holes that do not trigger when you fly through them. A nasty bug that got the UI stuck when completing the very last mission and turning the game into a normal save (fixed now).
As first impressions go, this was not a good look to convince new players to join.

So here I am watching Miss Scarlet and The Duke, and all I hear is ... Gale?
And sure enough...
The cognitive dissonance was almost as bad as when I saw Henry from Kingdom Come in a british murder mystery.

This new project started as an experiment to hijack the Death events in the game and turned into a more significant mod than I anticipated.
The main idea behind Santa Muerte - Death Alternative is that it doesn't make sense that the Relic only saves V's life once or twice during the game and lets them die all the time outside of these two events.
The Relic was designed by Arasaka for Immortality. Initially, by preserving the personality of an individual as a Construct. But that doesn't explainhow the Relic somehow manages to revive V after the encounter with Dex.
The lore-friendly background I came up with is that Jackie is the wildcard here.
When Jackie slots the Relic, he is badly hurt and has only one thing on his mind - survival.
What if the Relic picks up on the intensity of his thoughts, and especially his prayers to the Santa Muerte, as the missing instruction set that eluded Arasaka scientist.
Jackie's beliefs give the Relic the imperative to preserve its host and to survive in accordance to the Santa Muerte.
Immortality becomes Jackie's gift to V... which has some poetry to it.
--
Practically, the mod gives V a limited number of resurrection according to the strength of the Relic.
The maximum number of resurrections increases over time with the player's level, cyberware capacity and with some actions dear to Jackie, like a tarot reading with Misty, attending his funeral and helping Mama Welles.
When the number of resurrections is reached, the Relic is tapped out and death becomes final.
And on top of that, someone suggested an idea on Discord that was too good to pass up - what if we could play again the crash/reboot sequence from Dex encounter in the UI?
That idea became Diverse Death Screens, a standalone mod and also add-on for Santa Muerte, that plays a random selection of videos when V bites the dust.
Both mods are coming along.
For Santa Muerte, the next major improvement will be to add a chance to teleport to certain destination after death - home, hospital, ripperdoc, or scav lair.
For Diverse Death Screens, the main update will be to add a mod settings menu to allow the players to pick which videos they want to see among other options.

This week's project? Adding support for more backpack mods for my own Limited Encumbrance.
The latest version of the mod currently adds more carry capacity for these backpacks and bags:
- Spawn0's True Backpacks   - TweakXL Kabuki Bags and Backpacks (which relies on Spawn0's true backpacks). - Backpacks from Lara Croft Unified Outfit - OneSlowZZ Tactical Backpack
There are so many other backpacks in the game.
I wish someone could do something with the slick courier backpacks, or the Bunny backpacks!
I may have to turn them into another weekend project soon.

From that pile of 'mods I can't release because I made them for myself and I don't have permissions to share', I have two projects that have been coming along nicely.
One is a merge of various ads and poster replacements across Night City. I picked my favorites from multiple ads replacement mods and added my own contributions to the mix, like call-outs to concept art, Cyberpunk 2020 materials or other visuals I really wanted in the game, like Hajime Sorayama's chrome girls. They look great for Avante ads campaigns.
The other is about tweaking the amazing Wannabe Edgerunners cyberpsychosis mod with a tunnel vision and golden glitches for the early stages of psychosis, and an automatic switch of a select radio when psychosis kicks in.
Want to give your psychosis episodes a classical music soundtrack? want to evade MaxTac under a Poppon shit loop? want to smash scavs faces with the Ride of the Valkyries or Singing in the Rain like in a Clockwork Orange? .. then just create a dedicated radio with RadioExt and play it automatically when cyberpsychosis flares up.

Fun project this week.. changing the difficulty level images for a new game.
Because of the current state of copyright laws, I will keep this in the list of mods I can't share (I have a few more in that pile).
If you like the idea, take it as motivation to learn how to use Wolvenkit to create your own mod. It isn't very difficult once you get past the first texture replacement tutorial.
The difficulty after that is about exploring the game assets folders to find the exact textures you need to replace.

A couple of nights ago it hit me that we have that broadcast about malware infested public data terminals in Night City and yet, V is happily plugging away in every port available (not to mention the blood curling insertion of unknown data shards).
Well then.. the project this weekend was to understand how to inflict a quickhack on the player when using data terminals.
As usual, a key piece of information was graciously provided on Discord and a few hours later, I now have a chance of receiving a malware attack when using Dataterms in my Vehicles Fast Travel mod.
At low level, V better watch out.
At high levels, especially with points in Intelligence perks, cyberware countermeasures kick in most of the time and catch the nasty attacks.
The chances of attack are low by default and completely customizable in the new menu for the mod.

Missed opportunities in Phantom Liberty.
Not giving Alex a one night stand, I can understand, given how she insists on just dancing for the fun of it. Still, a hug at the end of the dance would have been a nice touch.
Not giving Aurore a one night stand is almost criminal, given how openly she flirts. Maybe it is Baldur's Gate 3 raising my expectations but a drug and booze fueled threesome with her and her brother would not have been out of place.
And that secret lair under The Moth.
There's a bed, clothes hangers, a mirror, boxes everywhere... why isn't there an option to make it a home for V?

One of the moments I have come to look forward to in my Cyberpunk play-through is the Sweet Dreams side mission.
It is not the greatest story - it is actually ridiculous to expect V would try out a suspect BD off a shady street vendor like that - but it is a great call out to the initial rescue mission and it is a perfect occasion to switch gears with deep changes to V's character.
Physically, that mission is a chance to try out deep customization mods, like Maelstrom's type implants or deep changes to the character. The idea being that the scavs made a botched attempt to turn V into a forced doll as revenge for the first rescue mission.
From a game-play point of view, it is when I switch play styles from a pure Intelligence based Netrunner build to a more Body and Reflex based physical build. That forces me to reset my skill tree and explore perks and skills I never would usually.
This makes V's journey much more transformative than what the default game allows.
It just wouldn't be possible without mods.
