Book Review
This is the second book out of three in The Friend Zone series by Abby Jimenez. It takes place two years after the first one ends. You can read my review of the previous book here. You do not have to read it before reading this, but I recommend doing so. This one was actually written first, and then the author wrote The Friend Zone as a prequel afterwards.
Sloan Monroe is driving along one day when a lost dog named Tucker suddenly jumps into her car. She tries to contact the owner several times, but he does not respond so she takes him home and begins caring for him as if he is her own. It turns out the owner - Jason Larsen - is a musician touring in Australia, so Sloan agrees to keep Tucker until he gets home. As they text and talk on the phone with witty and flirty banter over the next two weeks, they begin to develop a connection. When he comes back and they meet in person, it doesn't take them long to realize they have feelings for each other. However, Jason is about to leave again to go away on tour for ten months. Sloan and Jason will need to decide if they are willing to make sacrifices and compromises in order to be together.
I think I liked this book even more than The Friend Zone - which I really liked A LOT. One thing it addresses is navigating through the challenges of newfound fame for Jason and Sloan individually and as a couple. It was great to see Kristen and Josh from The Friend Zone again and find out what they've been up to! I love the friendship between Kristen and Sloan. I also loved how genuine and patient Jason was. I was not happy with some of his actions and behaviors towards the end of the book, but everyone makes mistakes. The characters are realistic because they are not perfect and they have flaws just like everyone else. The plot moved along nicely and I loved how well thought-out it was, down to every last detail between both books. I was very satisfied with their Happy Ever After, and there actually is a Playlist with a relevant song assigned to each chapter. I hope Kristen, Josh, Sloan, and Jason will make some appearances in the third book!

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.
