I have never felt so fucking lost. It’s a month today since we left New Mexico. I feel like I left my home. I spent over half my time there wishing I could leave but once I realized how beautiful it was and once I found my people, I could’ve stayed forever. I’m having a hard time adjusting to this new life. I grew SO much there. It’s like I ripped up my own roots to come to a place where I’m not thriving. I’m really struggling. I don’t want to be here.

I can’t communicate these feelings to anyone in my personal life. They’ll take it personally and think I don’t want to be back “home”. My husband doesn’t get it. My friends won’t even fucking talk to me let alone come see me. My parents are over the moon that I’m back. But I’m hurting. I’m struggling. I’ll be fine... it’s just way more difficult than I expected.

Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.
