enough reclaiming slurs, I think in 2023 we should reclaim nascar. they banned the confederate flag on all properties & their stance on lgbtq+ isn’t just performative bc in 2013 they fined a driver 10k for using a homophobic slur, condemned indiana in a statement for an anti lgbt law, and partnered w carolina’s lgbt+ chamber of conference in 2022. nascar was founded by anti-cop moonshiners/bootleggers who drove suped-up fords to out-run the police. #yaaascar

watching a very supernatural christmas and in the flashbacks sam is only just now (at 8 years old) finding out about monsters. which means that for 7 1/2 years dean has been bearing the burden about worrying if their dad will come home from “work” alive or not ON HIS OWN. sam thinks john is some sort of travelling salesman (?) up until this point. and dean has to live with the fear that he’ll lose their dad as well as their mom while also not clueing sam into the fact that john is in danger. constantly. no one to confide in or get comfort from. and in fact he is the one doing the comforting! he consoles sam about their dad being gone and in 2x01 john even says then when he came home from hunts dean would put a hand on his shoulder and tell his dad that everything would be okay. EVERYTHING YOU DO HAS BEEN FOR LOVE. THEE MOST CARING MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN. if you even care

saw someone say some fans give dean sam's arcs and thinking about it, it does happen and kinda sucks bc 1. just like sam instead and 2. as someone who loves dean, you're removing what makes him dean

i dont want a rebellius dean. i want the dean who no matter if he dislikes an order, he will follow it, bc and order is an order and he is a soldier. he likes to act like a he is some cool rebel but at the end of the day, he'll keep his head down and do as he has been told (and the intro personal conflict "i have to do this even if i dont like it" is top tier)

i dont a want a dean who fights john. i want the dean who shouldnt forgive him but does it anyways bc that's his dad. i want the dean who tries so hard to be a mediator when john and sam fight again and again cause someone has to keep the family together.

i dont want the dean who wants to stop hunting. i want the dean who doesnt have a life outside the life, the man you take away hunting and doesnt know who he is because that's what his life has always been and will be, there was never another option so he doesnt exist without it. he cant stop bc he si nothing outside of hunting

i dont want a dean who emphatizes with monster bc he feels like one (thats's literally sam character). yeah, he can feel like a monster in the way "i killed so much people, im a monster" but not in the supernatural monster way. he thinks mostly in black and white about supernatural monster-ish stuff, and yeah, with time and all that sam, benny, etc he learns to tolerate supernaturals but emphatizing on how a supernatural-related freak way? hell no. i want the dean who has to deconstructe himself on monsters for the sake of the people he loves and will fuck up (but try)

want those arcs? sam winchester is right there but dont change dean's. he is already an extremely interesting character on his own

#…op what #I agree Sam got robbed of what could’ve been cool story arcs buuuuuut #Dean’s characterization only underwent the type of natural growth he experienced over those years #Dean learned what not constantly hunting was like with Lisa #he grew to want that #Dean made so many friends who taught him so much about himself #Dean KNOWS who he is outside of hunting #like. yeah Sam got robbed but don’t make that Dean’s problem and act like he took every storyline from Sam #there’s not a single Dean storyline that I’ve ever watched and been like 🤔 ooc. that should’ve been Sam #because he grew and the writers laid the foundations for his growth #the Lisa foundation is just one of MANY #so what is this take #blaming Dean for Sam’s lack of story is so funny because if anything #if anything Sam was the one not growing or adapting and didn’t know who he was outside of hunting (once he got back into it) #when Dean was gone Sam became a ruthless hunter #when Sam was gone Dean became a surrogate father #and they continued like that for ehhhh 11 seasons? #so.

Love how in the earlier seasons, they would make Dean say "I don't swing that way" or "I don't play for your team" but after a while, they just gave up. I mean Aaron was hitting on Dean in what? Season 8 or 9? And all Dean could say to turn him down was that he's a federal agent on an investigation? Nothing about not being into dudes? Interesting...

I know people have mentioned it before but Dean will find a way to thrive in pretty much any environment. 

Sent away to a group home? Becomes a champion wrestler. Kisses a girl. Learns how to play guitar.

Prison? He will hustle everyone out of their money and happily eat all the food others are too disgusted to eat. His caloric excess will be used to defend his 6′4′’ brother. His uniform is somehow fitted. 

Purgatory? Forms a murder bestie trio and two men fall in love with him. Somehow, he even finds time to shave. 

Trapped in an alternate universe? He eats lizards and he likes it.

More stories from hell (retail) today I was ringing up this lady and she goes oh I want to do part of this on a gift card and the rest on normal card and I go ok and then she hands me a folded piece of paper. I think oh OK it must be folded around the gift card, right? Wrong. It is a folded sheet of 8×11 printer paper with "$40" written on the inside in ballpoint pen. I go what is this. She says a gift card. I say this is not a gift card. She says yes it is. I say this is a piece of paper with "$40" written on it. She says "well it's a gift card." I say it absolutely is not. I am grinding my teeth. She says well I want to use it. I say you physically cannot do that bc it is a piece of paper. I cannot scan or swipe it. I apologize, as if this is my fault, and not because she is completely insane. I hate it here
