"I want to blame it on the kids, because at least I get to blame it on something. But it's probably mercury being in the microwave again." Dean let out an overdramatic sigh as he picked up his bagel, almost looking like a beat up puppy as he did so. His poor, perfectly great, free bagel was now ruined. God damn you, kids! "Dude, fuck no!" He shook his head, letting out a heart-warming laughter at the other's question. He understood that yes, it did look like he was about to eat it, especially since he was so happy to have gotten one free of charge and the line was long as hell, but no. He wasn't that much of a dumbass. "I'm dumb, I'm not stupid." Dean clarified, before motioning his head towards the nearest dumpster and throwing his bagel there. "So long, friend. You'll be missed." He waved his food goodbye, before turning towards the kind stranger, who was offering theirs. "Wait, why don't you want yours? You waiting in line though... how about we share it? Like we're on kindergarten again." Dean suggested instead. "I'm Dean, by the way! I feel like I know you from somewhere though... but maybe you just have one of those faces?" / @remisolis

Remi waited in line at Lucky Joe's tent. A free bagel sounded pretty good right now, if she said so herself. What she hadn't expected was almost being ran over by a group of kids. Hurriedly out of their way, she'd seem to just miss them, but the man not too far from her, wasn't so lucky. She smiled softy as the man asked who she assumed was God why life was testing him. To be fair, Remi knew all too well how that felt. She also knew that it was rare for an answer to be given. She chuckled softy, "I do, I don't know if I'd say it was the kids, but I think it's safe to say that today isn't looking to be your day." She watched as he bent down to grab the dirty bagel, her heart going out to him, because she, too, knew what it felt like to lose something you were looking so forward to. "You're not going to eat that, are you?" She asked, her nose crinkling, "Because with the way it's going today, you might end up in the hospital." She glanced over at the tent before back at him, "You want mine? I don't mine."

"Dude, you're always saying that you're old, I kind of think that you think you're like—ninety years old or something." Dean laughed, throwing one arm over Saul's shoulders, while the other gently patted on the man's chest. He didn't think fifty-something was that old. Besides, his own mother was a few years older than Saul and she didn't complain this much about being old, so maybe the lawyer had some sort of age complex he was struggling with? Some mid-life crisis of some kind? "I'm alright too..." Should he talk to Saul about maybe having developed feeling for two different people? The man wasn't his actual father, and Dean had never had the closest relationship to his older siblings, so maybe Saul was the best person to talk about it... "Mom's okay! She sent you her best." Because of course Dean had told his mother he would be seeing Saul that evening. "She's on grandma duty tonight so that my older sister and her husband can have a night out." Again, he explained. "I don't think I've ever seen this movie either. I've seen the old ones... the classics. And maybe the girls one? I liked that one... You want some popcorn and soda?" / @saulweissberg

“good lord!” saul felt dean before he heard him, the pressure of the younger man’s hands on his shoulders making him nearly jump out of his skin. “are you trying to give an old man a heart attack?” he had been waiting at the entrance for a few minutes, having left the market a little while ago. he felt a little improper, not picking dean up and taking them both to the movies in his lexus, but he tried to reason with himself: dean was a grown man, not a child that didn’t know how to drive, and he wasn’t his son. they were friends, despite the large berth of their age gap. he hadn’t gone on to marry dean’s mother ann—though he might’ve if they kept on dating according to his track record—so there was no actual familial relationship between them. for all intents and purposes, they were two grown men going to see a movie on a friday night. dean was not micah, and if micah were actually in front of him now, he doubted he’d have the same smile on his face that dean currently had. another reminder of his numerous failures. saul pushed that out of his mind and placed a hand on dean's shoulder. “i’m absolutely ready. and i'm doing alright, thank you. how are you? how’s your mother?” though their relationship naturally came to an end, he still had a lot of affection for her, and hoped she found someone that would make her happier than anyone ever before—there was a reason why saul maintained he was a better friend than a boyfriend. “i must admit i’ve only seen the first movie. i think i was in college when the second one came out and i was too busy for the movies back then, so i might have to read the plots of the other movies on the internet later.”

See, Dean didn't mind Samar. Actually, it took a whole lot to make the younger man dislike someone, but it was safe to say that the whole back and forth that happened between Sam and Ingrid, wasn't exactly his favorite. Alas, if he were to be honest, if he were to be brutally honest, none of this was any of his business. No matter how close he was to Ingrid, no matter how strong their bond was... whatever happened between these two, was none of his business.
But he worried... he worried because Ingrid was a friend. She was more of a sister to him than his own older sister had ever been. So of course he didn't want for her to be in a relationship that was this off and on again—despite his own had never lasted all that long.
"Heeey, Sam." Dean raised his hand as if to high five the other man and once their palms touched, Dean lowered his in a shake of hands. "I've been doing alright. Mostly house searching, because that's the worst. How are you? These look pretty dope!" He smiled, pointing at one of Samar's pieces. "Are you having any luck selling them?" / @sammypersaud

— Dean Chaiyachet Adulyadej spring market, any day.
The familiar face popped up at his booth, noticing the man before the other noticed him. The conversation about Ingrid moving in with the other fresh on his mind — even if it did happen over a week ago. Why was he so bothered by it? He believed her when she said nothing was happening with Dean, that the man was like her brother. They had no reason to keep something like that from each other. Yet, he couldn't shake the nagging feeling that his best friend moving away from the place they'd always known together and into the city bothered him in some way. It wasn't the time to think too hard about it, though, not when he had about a dozen potential customers surrounding his booth, considering his oddities he created with the scraps he collected. "Dean!" Samar greeted happily, a smile forced its way onto his expression. "How are you, man?"

"What makes you think I've been betting all the much in the first place, hm?" Dean questioned Ingrid right back, out of pure spite, because he knew she was joking too. Finally, the du had decided that enough was enough and that they deserved a nicer place to call their own, especially with Freya being so close to leaving them. If Dean was feeling the empty nest syndrome when it came to the younger woman, he could only imagine how hard it was being for Ingrid, since she'd been the one to raise Freya from the get go. So they'd been looking at places to rent in different neighborhoods, especially the ones that seemed to be big enough for the two of them, but cheap enough for the two of them. "You're the one who've been living with a professional gambler!" He said, pointing to Freya, who retorted by smacking him and saying he was lying, only to have Dean burst out in a laugh. "You're the one trying to take money off me, kiddo!" Dean then threw his arm over Ingrid's shoulders, pulling her close to him. "Look! She's off to steal our money like she stole our hearts! Devilish little woman she is!" / @ingridlczano

Kayak racing was entertaining to watch, but Ingrid had no intention of getting near the water herself, especially with her sister involved. Since she wasn't working at the food truck that day, meeting up with Dean for some fun and relaxation sounded like the perfect plan. As she observed her sister and best friend betting on kayakers of different colors, Ingrid couldn't resist chiming in. "Mm, I dunno, I think the guy in blue looks confident enough. My bet's on him," she said with a laugh, rolling her eyes playfully. "No, she's not. She's supposed to be getting us drinks with that money," she said, gesturing towards the vendors a few meters away. "Yeah, I guess. This is nice. The weather is perfect, and the guy in the blue kayak is hot," she teased, keeping an eye on Freya to ensure she was safe. "And you? Don't lose too many bets. We've got to save up for the apartment."

"As if the Doctor didn't give his companions shit—affectionately." Dean turned his head, as if to bite Frankie's finger off as she poked his cheek rather gently. To someone who had never been ashamed of his affectionate ways, the ones around him tended to keep their hands to themselves, so of course, he enjoyed whenever people touched him, caressed him, embraced him.
The way his smile kept plastered on his lips each time he hung out with Frankie should've been enough indicator that maybe there was something there that neither were seeing or were ignoring. From Dean's perspective, he tended to let himself get attached to people quite easily, thus making it hard for him to differentiate his feelings from this to that type of relationship. He had only pulled away from Fletch when he noticed whatever he was feeling for the other man wasn't platonic anymore... he was scared the same would happen with Maya, and maybe now with Frankie.
Deep down, he was scared.
On the surface, the streamer kept on ignoring that burning sensation in the pit of his stomach each time he was in both their presences. He wondered if it would mean that he would have to eventually make a choice one day.
"To be fair, mom and Saul did try to rope me up into getting more into wine, but, eh..." If he was being honest, his taste for alcohol had never been the most manly, some would say. He liked his drinks sweet and easy to make. Usually, Dean would be caught drinking a mixture of Monster and vodka, simply because it was easier like that. "But I trust you. Go on, little love—" Dean smirked lightly, trying to keep a decent British accent on the tip of his tongue as he called Frankie love, "—Cheers!"
Dean tried his best not to make a face as the wine tasted less tasteful than he would've expected, but it still didn't taste like dry death, like the ones his mother enjoyed drinking. "It's not that bad. I'd rather be shot in the face than drinking it again—" Which caused him to turn towards the vendor behind the Grape Escapes., "—No offense to you." And then, he turned to face Frankie again. "But yeah... Maybe something sweeter? I don't know if that's your thing or not." / @frankiexshen
Tumblr media
A bone deep craving for connection to other people had always seemed to run contrary to the level of anxiety Frankie carried on any given day; tucked somewhere around her heart, perhaps, so that no matter what the day might have brought she'd still find a way to feel it. That in and of itself wasn't a conscious choice and if she was lucky― or feeling particularly good on any given day― she could simply ignore it. She felt that way now, with Dean's arm wrapped around her― as though she couldn't possibly be nervous or anxious about something that simply seemed to fit together in her life. Perhaps it was too much pressure? On both of them, really. She wasn't exactly carrying a sterling track record around when it came to being interested in anyone.
No amount of interest had, historically, allowed her to let go of enough of her insecurity not to simply leave when things felt particularly as though they might lean towards an affection she could fall into as easily as breathing. If the way her head seemed to swim the slightest bit whenever she was with Dean was any indication, well, she might have been heading for a fondness for the man at her side from which she would never recover.
"Look," Frankie said finally, pulling herself from her thoughts. "I'm not saying that I wouldn't have a fantastic time being the Doctor but I am saying it's quite fun to give you a bit of shit and I do mean that affectionately." She reached up to poke his cheek with an easy smile, "I'll see what I can do to drum up a bit of a crash course for you. All of my wine experience is from like, my parents and their insufferable friends so it might be a bit..." She trailed off and shook her head. "Fuck it, I'm sure we'll manage."
She offered the man running the stall a smile as he chatted with them for a brief moment before they were handed two samples of rosé and Frankie turned her attention back to Dean with a smile. "Cheers?"

Dean was both happy and relieved that he'd been allowed to share the table with the brunette, despite not knowing them. It wasn't everyone that allowed a random, total stranger to share the table with them, and, well... Dean quite often didn't keep his promise of keeping to himself as it was easier for him to simply start chit-chatting about anything and everything under the sun. "Thank you, thank you!" He smiled, happily humming to a random song someone from his chat had suggested the streamer to add to his playlist, and that now, was stuck in his head since the night before.
His for was halfway towards his lips when the other's question caused him to pause, too. "Wait... we don't?" Was this all for free? No, it couldn't be, right? "It doesn't make sense that this is all for free... otherwise, I feel like this place would be twice as more packed though. Uh... now you got me questioning myself." Not that there was ever a problem in questioning himself, but... you know... it was odd doing so in front of a stranger. "Even if it was for charity..." / @evrimaksoy

"Hey, who said I was teasing? The hell?" The streamer raised his free hand in a defensive way, because the arm he had around Frankie's shoulders, remained there, safely draped around her petite frame and being held by her warm hand. "I will have you know, Miss Frankenstein, that being considered a Time Lord is like... the ultimate compliment, alright? Psh, teasing." Dean shook his head, finding it extremely hard not to smile whenever Frankie was around. The way she would lean onto him, the way her laugh would warm his chest... it was nice enough to make him feel a certain kind of anxiety that usually made him nervous to be around people.
However, it also brought some sort of sense of guilty to tap on the back of his mind. He knew he didn't have anything serious with Maya, but he had been talking to her, too, and well... He didn't want to seem like he was the type of guy who would date two people at the same time.
But he had fun with them both.
In the end... the more he tried to figure things out about himself, the more confused he would get.
"Yeah, I like wine." He nodded, answering her question. "I'm definitely weak when it comes to wine, though, but I like it." He paused for a moment there. "I mean, I don't know the first thing about wine, so if you want to explain it to me, I'll be a good boy and just listen." Especially since he had already made perfectly clear to Frankie just how much he loved hearing her accent. Wait, was he getting too obvious? Was he becoming too clingy? This wasn't the first time he kept himself attached to the petite brunette, so what if he was bothering her or invading her space and she was just trying to be nice by holding his hand? "I'm always a good boy, though, so I don't think you'll have that much problem getting the idea across you, know?" That sounded sexual, didn't it? A good boy... Or maybe he sounded like a puppy? He wasn't a puppy. He was a fully grown man! Even if sometimes he didn't seem like one. "But uh... yeah, I'll shut up now...? Anyway... Rosé?" He questioned, looking down at her with a smile, then back up to the man behind the row of wine bottles. "Rosé? Do you guys have any?" / @frankiexshen
"Oi, you're going to lose privileges altogether if you keep teasing me about it," Frankie said, a note of petulance in her voice that was almost entirely put on. It was taking nearly every bit of self-control she possessed not to grin like a madwoman simply because she was in Dean's presence― she wasn't about to delve into the 'why' of that particular urge, of course. Or... she wasn't going to delve into it for the next few minutes― the day was young, after all, and her mind had a tendency to fixate on things whether she willed it or no. A snort was her only response to his question and she leaned into him just a bit more without answering before her eyes flickered to his face and she shrugged in return. "I suppose I'm just a professional spoil sport. I'm not saying we couldn't but I am saying we need to work on your idea of a master plan because 'oh, just grab it!' isn't much of one, love," She finished, pointedly drawling as the endearment tumbled from her lips.
"Charmer," Frankie muttered, glancing away from him as her cheeks began to warm embarrassingly quickly. It had to have been an innate talent of his, she decided, or she'd become terribly susceptible to the charms of cute, energetic boys since the last time she'd been interested in anyone at all. "We could always poke around for a good rosé - they tend to be popular in the Spring so I'm betting they've got one," Frankie mused, raising a hand to tap her knuckles against her jaw lightly as she thought. "Do you like any kind of wine as is? That probably should've been my first question."

Suffice to say, of course Dean started laughing as soon as he noticed he'd spooked Frankie. Granted, it wasn't his intention to give the petite doctor a heart attack of any kind, but it was always funny to see her get spooked like that. "Ayy talk British to me, Doctor Who. Call me love again." He leaned down, planting a kiss on Frankie's cheek and then, shrugged, thinking about her question. It wasn't like he was planning on shoving a big bottle of wine like that anywhere, but it was still fun to tease Frankie like that. "Tsk tsk tsk, why must you ruin the fun by asking logical questions like that, huh?" But in the end, she was right. His plan did need more planning.
The streamer welcomed her hand in his and gave it a light squeeze as he looked down at her and winked at her. "I am, yeah. I mean, I haven't done much yet, though..." But it was fun, and he didn't mind the company he currently had either. "You're here though, so I'm bound to have even more fun." As he motioned his chin towards the row of wine bottles, Dean then turned to Frankie with a smile. "Which one should I try first? The last time I asked for help with wine, I wasn't that successful though. Maybe you can help me." / @frankiexshen

In the year and a half she'd been living in Providence Peak she'd gleaned that the spring festival was a highlight of the year― a glowing recommendation by every account considering how readily the town seemed to throw itself into celebrating anything. Standing in the middle of downtown with a crowd that seemed to thrum with excitement and good cheer, well, she couldn't deny that they might've been onto something when it came to bringing people together. Of course, her train of thought was well and truly derailed the moment Dean's arm slipped around her shoulders and she jumped so hard it was all she could do to keep the wine in her hand in the cup it had been served in. "Shite!" Frankie's voice cracked in the split second before she began to laugh and tilted her head to meet Dean's eyes and offer him a smile of her own. "Where exactly do you plan on putting it? I think this plan might need a few more steps, love," Frankie said. She reached up to tangle their fingers together where Dean's hand was draped over her shoulder and valiantly chose to ignore how she felt about having done it in the first place. "Mm, I'll see what I can do. We'll ignore that I can't weigh more than fifty-five kilos soaking wet but I suppose I'll make up for it somehow," Frankie declared with a dramatically put upon sigh. "Are you having fun, then?"

It was funny that every time he bumped into Frankie, there was a damn smile on his lips. Although he knew the younger doctor would be around for the festivities, he didn't know when exactly they would end up bumping into one another, so, when he did spot her in the crowd, Dean was quick to throw his arm around her shoulders and duck his head, as if to tell her a secret or something. "Do you think they would notice if we stole one of these bottles?" His bright smirk shone down on her, before Dean pressed a kiss on her cheek. "'Sup, Doctor Shen. Would you hold my hand and protect me if I got too drunk on wine tasting?"

Who doesn't remember that Vine of the guy happily rapping about his tacos and then, all of a sudden, he accidentally drops his taco in slow motion? That was exactly how Dean felt as he exited the line for Lucky Joe's free bagels tasting. Some kids stormed past him, causing him to drop his bagel to the ground even before he'd had a chance to bite on it. "Ugh, why do you hate me so much?" He asked after a groan as he faced up towards the sky. He almost felt like a whiny baby because, well, he was really looking forward to that damn bagel. "Do you believe in curses?" He turned to the person next to him, before picking up the dirty bagel from the ground. "Because I'm pretty sure those kids cursed me. It was a perfectly good bagel!"

"No, but like... bet you five bucks they'll win." Dean told Freya while the kayak race was going on. He wasn't the most athletic person out there, much less, he was competitive enough to find himself racing against other people for a chance to win personalized kayaks, but the weather was so fucking nice that day, that he would be dumb to have stayed at home during the spring festival. It didn't take long for Ingrid to join them, which prompted the streamer to throw his arm over his best friend's shoulders. "What do you think, Lozano? Freya's money is on red kayak. Mine is on the yellow." He smiled, motioning his head towards the lake. "By the way, your sister's already betting money. Professional gambler, I'd say!" There was no way in hell that Dean would miss the brunch prepared by Emmy. Not only did this woman know know how to pick her wife — wink wink, his boss and third favorite person in the world Verda —but also, she made mean foods. And drinks. And damn, the woman was perfect, wasn't she? So, hell yeah, he was going to head out to Holy Spirits in hopes to catch himself more awake than he actually felt.
Most tables were taken by the time he had arrived, so, he approached one that had an empty chair and rested his hands on the back of said chair. "Mind if I join you?" "Who you're gonna call?" Dean clasped Saul's shoulders, using that Ghostbusters catchphrase to startle the man as he snuck up from behind him. Despite things not having worked out between Saul and his mother, Dean was actually glad that the lawyer had been his mother's first attempt to getting herself back out there in the dating game. After his father's indiscretions, which resulted in a child outside their marriage that was only found out four years ago, Dean was more than happy to see his mother giving love another shot. The woman deserved it, to say the least. Besides, Saul was nice. A bit too formal for Dean's taste, but then again, Dean was not the most formal person out there. "Saul, my man, how are ya? You ready to enjoy some busting them ghosts with yours truly?"

"Psh, my bad, Million dollar baby!" Dean teased Tyler. You know, from the looks of how things had started between them, he was actually glad that they were able to work things out because Tyler was actually pretty dope. He could definitely use someone this cool in his life. "Dude... you've got a gym in your basement? That is so fucking dope!" His jaw almost dropped at the fighter's words. "Uh... can you fucking not? I'd like to stop envying your amazingness if possible?" If he had room for a gym in his apartment, Providence Peak's streets wouldn't see him ever again. "Alright. Tomorrow then. I'll be here!" / @tysingh
— THE END.
Dean's wording cut Ty's argument off, her head nodding once. There weren't many things she could understand and have sympathy for, but money troubles was one of them. She'd grown up with nothing and even if that part of her life was different now, there were a lot of habits from that time of her life that had stuck. "Nah, I get you. That's fair. We'll just have to make the time you paid for worth it," she shrugged, willing to offer to make that happen if it kept him from feeling that the money he'd spent had been wasted. "And don't be an ass, it's not thousands each fight." Ty paused for a moment to snort before continuing. "It's millions, so. Get it right." With the prize purse and the windfall of money in sponsorships and other stupid shit that she did, she did more than well for herself. "It's nice having one at home. I've got a full gym in my basement with all the fighting stuff. It's sick. But, yeah, next fight is coming up soon in Vegas and then I don't have another one for like...dunno. Six months to a year probably. Be here tomorrow. Same time about. We can get something in then before I'm out?"

Dean chuckled. Sure, he made a mean baklava, but this was the first time he'd heard someone call him a 'saving grace' over the baked good, but he would take it. "Dude, no worries at all! If I could I would even give you one free of charge." He chuckled. Of course, Dean knew he couldn't. Verda would have his head if he ever did something this reckless, but still he felt like hugging the blonde. It was a nice pet to his ego, of course. "How many should I bring?" His phone went off almost at the same time as the ding in the kitchen, so Dean excused himself after her response and brought back the amount the blonde had asked him for. He checked them in the register and waved her goodbye almost as soon as Ingrid returned to her spot by the register.
— THE END.
The man in front of her was surely some sort of angel in disguise. For a brief moment there she felt like she was setting herself up for a day in despair. No amount of chocolate cake or pampering by Freddie would be enough to replace Baklava. Not today. “Really? Ten minutes is nothing. I’m definitely happy to wait.” Heck, she’d wait an hour for them if need be. “You’re my saving grace today. Thank you.”

"Of course I told'em you'd be coming, are you kidding me? A pretty face like yours coming to my stream? I gotta let them know!" The younger man teased. Although Floyd wasn't exactly Dean's type, that wasn't to say the man was bad to look at. "Yeah, yeah, you're mr. busy, I get it." Again, Dean joked, before adjusting his headphones over his head, then he turned on his chair. "Check if everything's alright with the headphones and the controller. I feel like it is, but feel free to change the sensibility and all that." He advised the other man, reaching for a sip of his energy drink. "DBD it is. You wanna do some sort of challenge as we go in? Maybe try an escape streak?" Dean then muted his mic for a second there and turned to look at Floyd. "You okay with this, right? Like chatting live and all?" / @floydparker

floyd was admittedly pretty nervous about coming on his channel with him but he knew that the two would end up having a good time regardless of what happened otherwise. he was just going to try not to think too much about it and focus more on the game instead. "you told them i was coming?" he asked as he stepped further inside and took a seat next to him. he laughed as the other went on, "what? you don't want me to just hang around?" he joked. "i'm kidding. i'm here to play but don't be surprised if i'm not any good at it. i don't get near enough time to play." he settled further into his seat and offered the camera a small smile, maybe even an awkward one.
