Final Critique @hirrakhan
I find the simplicity of Hirra's photos very peaceful and the story behind it really showed her growth. The idea that she started off quite nervously about taking photos in such a crowded public space and becoming more comfortable with it, really showed her confidence growth down to the point where she's able to sneakily take a photo of even her brother and I find that amazing and a little poetic in a way. But aside from it I think she captured photos that defined both creativity and community very well. I think the shots of people performing, directing, and photographing too was affective in what you were aiming to express; a constant ongoing world happening all around us that are important in their own ways.
Nevertheless, they were great wholesome photos with very nice settings and subjects. I hope your brother isn't still salty about his picture Hirra haha.

Photography Final Project Proposal
“Memories in New forms”
For my final project, I want to continue the theme that was used for my midterm project and maintain the idea of memory. The photographer that I’ll be taking inspiration from is William Eggleston.
William is known for his photography works of capturing and describing the cultural transformations in scenes of everyday life. His gallery consisted of portraits that involved family and friends as well as gasoline stations, cars, and shop interiors. He was also known as one of the pioneers of color photography and saw switching from black and white as a promise for a better and brighter life from postwar consumer culture in America.
I would like to incorporate some of William’s style and the use of both color and black and white to portray not only memory, but also the transformation and change of said memories.

I aim to try and create at most 5 pictures or more for the project. Each consists of a modern photograph of either a family member, area, or everyday object captured in color, mixed with a fragment-like layer that has a black and white picture of what said compositions looked or were viewed like in the past. So in total I would be actually working with 10 pictures. Colored pictures will most likely be taken raw from my DSLR, black and whites however will possibly be taken from another photo or borrowed online, though I’ll try to stick to originality as much as possible.

Assignment 1
The photographer I chose is a Korean photographer named Cielo Moon. Most of his photography involves sunsets over the horizon or dusks of the day mixed with aspects of the lands, oceans, clouds, and even the moon. Aspects that I find wonderfully mesmerizing in nature especially combos of all. These pictures also affect me on a personal level as it’s the views I look towards to keep myself at peace and stay relaxed.
