I know it was a bug that needed to be fixed, but that fact that the loot you got from Nathanos was a weapon that didn't match your spec is such a mean move and peak Nathanos tbh. What an icon.
Ok finally watched the cinematic trailer things and
Why is Blizzard acting like Bolvar is suddenly a good guy, when in Legion he very much isn't, and ''knew that (Sylvanas) would come for the power" all along when afaik they have literally never interacted before she kicked his ass. Like the only interaction was Sylvanas saw the Lich King had been replaced and then committed suicide??
The only rational explanation is Kentucky Fried Lich King over there was invading the Forsaken's minds in Legion like he did the Ebon Blade and Sylvanas rightfully said "Fuck You. I'm going to kick your ass, take your fucking hat, and kick your ass more."
Steve Danuser Interview @ Screenrant - Vindication for Sylvanas?
“We intended for the themes introduced in Shadowlands and in the Afterlives series to inspire conversation and debate. It’s not as simple as saying something is right or wrong, good or evil. The ecosystem of Death functioned seemingly without incident for countless eons before the Arbiter ceased functioning and the anima drought created a scarcity of resources. Yet we see how swiftly the functions and norms within each of these realms began to break down. Such a rapid unraveling should raise the question of how healthy that system was to begin with.”
To me, this is strongly inclining to the notion that the Shadowlands has been fundamentally flawed from it’s very foundations since its inception. By extension, this could mean that the very designers/creators themselves were flawed. Crucially then, it would mean that Sylvanas broke nothing in shattering the veil - the system was already broken long before she even arrived. She did not “doom Azeroth” or “bring about the end times” or any other of that over-exggerating catastrophising language nonsense we’re hearing - Azeroth has always been doomed, because it has been run by a system that was flawed since her creation. All Sylvanas is doing is, quite literally, lifting the veil for all to see.
If this is anywhere near close to being what Danuser was implying, then this could very well go a long way to giving what so many of us want for Sylvanas - vindication. As an added bonus, it would give the useless Bolvar, every traitor in the Horde “Council”, and every troll on social media, a nice big juicy slice of humble pie. If Danuser is hinting at the fact that the Shadowlands, by design from the earliest years of The Great Beyond, was flawed from it’s very core then this, to a large degree, exonerates Sylvanas of her actions to open the way to the Shadowlands. Furthermore, what with the new cinematic that coincided with this interview, this interpretation feels to go almost hand-in-hand with Sylvanas’s assertion that “control of our fates will at last be our own”. These two elements feel very plausibly linked to me - Danuser’s implication of a fundamentally flawed cosmological system and Sylvanas’s goal to bring about change to said system. As she said in Shadows Rising, a “self-righteous cosmos”
Rampant baseless speculation? Buying way too much into the hype? Expecting too much from Blizzard? Only time will tell.
