As we retreat internally to our home space, as a response to the external environment and in perfect accordance with the seasons, we are moving towards a Yin place of stillness and reflection. It looks like the earth is doing the same!

After much deliberation I have made a conscious decision to temporarily close Dantian Health clinic for in-person consults. This choice is arising from a motivation to attend to my and my family’s health. I urge you to reach out if you need any support or referral for in person treatment whilst I am not in the clinic. As an AHPRA registered practitioner my services are considered essential (ie keeping people healthy and thus reducing the burden on the GP/hospital system). I have been following the best infection control procedures and of course asking all patients who display signs of respiratory illness to contact me first so as not to compromise my health or those of my other patients. It is my intention to reopen within 3-4 weeks for in-person consultations. In the meantime I am offering teleconsults with herbal prescriptions to be mailed out. I wish you the best in health during this time.

In Oriental Medicine, the intention for practitioners is to help the body function optimally so it can process things like Coronavirus. Symptoms that arise are the roadmap towards identifying the correct treatment that the body needs at a given point in time (which can change throughout the course of illness and also manifest differently for different people with the same disease). This is where the essence of Classical Chinese Herbal medicine truly shines as a treatment option. Restoring the body’s ability to live harmonious with its environment. This article describes that concept beautifully (I think!). Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.

We are soon to be entering the year of the Metal Rat. This is an in-depth forecast from Lillian Bridges. "January 25, 2020 is the start of the Chinese Year of the White Rat (or Mouse). The Rat is the first animal in the Chinese Zodiac system and this is the beginning of a completely new 12-year and 60-year cycle and is therefore considered the beginning of a new era. It is also the start of another decade, all of which makes it an especially important year for new beginnings and new possibilities. It is time to bring out new ideas, new plans and say yes to new opportunities. It is a good year for reinvention and starting over." Read it in full here http://bit.ly/2Tbe7pu

Take the time to review where you have been before setting the intention for where you will go.
