The two adopt Max into their lives after like [insert your favorite Adoptive Dadvid AU scenario here] and it’s awkward for a good few months since Max had to be uprooted and whatever.

They do some PDA in front of him so he is all exaggerative over it like making fake vomit sounds.

Enjoys the company of a dog friend and Neil and Nikki while they have date nights because “10 is too old for a babysitter”.

He’s just like in the lap of middle class luxury in a tiny 2 bedroom 2 bath suburb house.

David insists on family game nights but it ends in everyone pissed off because it’s usually Monopoly and that is the Death Of Family Relationships.

Just generally cute and funsy family stuff.

Tiny baby sister in the mix because I want to self-indulge???? Max is a protective big brother but also accidentally teaches her to say ‘fuck’???

David asks Gwen to do Mom Things with Max because that’s not something he could even begin to give him in any way, shape or form

It turns into like a day out and they shop for clothes (for school? who knows! That’s the magic of my Shitty, Underdeveloped™ idea!) and get coffee and just enjoy some time together.

It’s like a girl’s day on the town essentially. Minus Gwen’s friends, plus her co-worker’s adoptive son that she knows really well.

The three go out for like lunch and stuff and people are always gawking because fabulous family and servers always get In Their Business so they’re essentially banned from a lot of diners because he makes a big scene when the servers make Gwen or David uncomfy, the pair doing the same if he gets uneasy.
