Symbolic Selfie 2
1. This assigment incorpoarted multiple aspects, from words and phrases to photos that were all supposed to describe myself. This is different from normal selfies because it actually describes me whereas a regular selfie is typically just an edited photo taken in good lighting. The point of a regular selfie is to make yourself look your best and show it off on social media. This selfie described me and gave an insight to what I am interested in.
2. This selfie says more about me than a traditional selfie because it displays my interests and describes me more than a regular selfie which is just a picture of me. It says less about me though in the fact that it was created for a class and not one I took on my own.
3. I think the photo does a decent job of descrbing me. It does a good job showing my interests and using words that describe me, but it only scrapes the surface of who I am. I am composed of much more than what the picture shows but it is a good summary of me.

Photowalking Score 2
1. I enjoyed my experience while completing this assignment. I went on campus to do this assignment early before classes started so it was actually relaxing. It was just me and my dog walking around, so I had a good time doing the assignment.
2. The most interesting photograph to me was the sunrise picture I took. The sky is just starting to change colors with the sunrise but it is still dark enough to make the trees look like silhouettes. I chose this photo because I love viewing sunrises and sunsets, so taking the photo was also enjoyable.
3. I chose to take a picture of the Union on campus because I have spent quite a bit of time there the past three years. Whether it was to study, grab lunch with friends, or get coffee I have spent many hours in the Union; some enjoyable and others not as much.
4. I do not view the Union any differently after completing this assignment.
5. I would say I now realize how central the Union is on campus and how close I live to the Union. I walked there to complete this assignment and it took me less than 5 minutes to get there.
6. I did not mind following instructions to complete this assignment because sometimes I struggle with coming up with my own creative ideas. Having set instructions actually helped me complete it.

What the Flux 2.
Bounce tennis ball to a dog. Dog jumps to try and catch the tennis ball. Dog misses.
My score is more personal because I used my dog in the video and dogs are one of my favorite animals. My score was nothing too exciting but I believe it is easily recreatable for anyone else who would want to try and do it.
I enjoyed my own score over the ones I chose for the first assignment because I got to choose what I did during it. It was also more fun creating the score rather than performing one; I am not a big fan of being on camera or in front of audiences.

Braid, Alison Knowles.
A. I chose most of these out of convience; I needed scores I was able to do inside my apartment (the weather was not cooperating today). Also, many of the other scores involved items I do not own or would have required groups of people.
B. My favorite to perform was Braid because this is a hairstyle I commonly wear and it was very easy for me to do. I enjoy playing with my hair and will often braid it like to pass time.
C. I honestly felt a little silly because this piece was very simple to do but I enjoyed doing it as long as my face wasn’t in it.
D. The only difference between my video and the initial reading of the score was I did this one myself when it is usually done with 2 or more people.

Stream of Consciousness 3

“Life is always rocky when you’re a gem.”
I chose these phrases and quotes because I feel they reflect my stream of consciousness assignment. I really enjoy the fourth phrase because I talked a lot about being stressed in my S of C and I felt this phrase was very true. Like many college students, I have multiple things to stress about each day but this phrase is a good reminder to still enjoy life, even when things may not be going my way or when life is getting difficult.

I surprisngly enjoyed this activity. I found it very easy to write for the whole ten minutes and I would say it allowed me to vent about feelings I have been holding in for a while. It was nice to get into my own little world while writing this and the assignment allowed me to express myself.
I would say nothing really surprised me about what I wrote. I started out talking about my day but I did get into some deeper feelings I haven’t wanted to express out loud which wpuld be the only thing that surprised me. I think this stream of consciousness reflects me to an extent; it discusses a lot of what I have going on right now and am involved in. It reflects how stressed out I am right now with everything going on but I feel it makes me seem whinier than I actually am.

Vanitas Montage Part 2

I visited Michael Adam’s blog and I was able to determine the celebrity he chose to represent in his collage was Rob Gronkowski. The number 87 stood out the most to me on the collage and I was able to recognize it was the Patriot’s jersey. The Patriot’s mascot and a NFL football were also on there which were other clues that abled me to figure out who the collage was representing.
I would say the strongest elements of my collage was the different types of food because that is Guy Fieri’s job; to travel and try all types of foods at crazy restaurants. However, if I could add anything, I would represent his traveling better in the collage. He has been to some cool places and I wish I would have added some of those to my collage. I also think I should have added more photos representing Guy’s fun personality and not just photos that represent his job.

I Could Do That! 2
The piece I chose for the first part of this assignment was created by Matt Keegan in 2016. Since this is so recent, not much was going on then that is different than now. During 2016, there was a presidential election and a controversial president which affected the current political climate. However, none of this influenced the portrait. There is also no important person that the artist brings to context in the photograph. Researching Matt Keegan and his works took some digging and I still didn’t find much about him or this collection. I did learn he had a similar collection in 2009. But after learning more about him and his collections, and understanding the history, my views of the work did not change.
I understand each piece has a meaning behind it, but I do still believe I could create the photograph. However, as stated in the videos, I did not create it and Matt Keegan did. I also have no desire to create such types of works but I can appreciate other artists creative style.

Have you seen my language? By Matt Keegan, 2016.
I feel I could have made this potrait because it uses a simple household object with a very neutral background. All I would need to do is buy a vacuum and find a house that has a similar set up to be able to create this photograph. I think to make this photo better you could add something colorful. When looking through the website it took me a while to find this because it does not stand out. The neutral colors of the house and the vacuum make it very easy to skip over. I would have painted the wall a contrasting color of the vacuum to make it a more exciting piece because brighter colors always catch people’s eye. Or you could add more objects other than the vacuum to make the photo less plain. This is how I feel I could have made the portrait better.
