Very few of them, if any at all, will ever see this post, but it’s been a honor to have been their friend, daughter, cousin, niece, classmate, colleague, mentor, student, etc.

BLACKSWAN - Close to Me

While the audio mixing may leave something to be desired (it’s not necessarily bad, it just doesn’t quite work to enhance the song), the song itself is very catchy, and I’m glad I’ve gotten to hear it! I wasn’t sure about it in the beginning with the verses, but the chorus and post-chorus (0:49-1:17) are truly addictive.

Utada Hikaru - First Love

An iconic song that I’ve always loved since childhood. It’s not a particularly complex song by any means, but it’s beautiful because it’s simple. And of course, the fact that Utada Hikaru is the one singing just elevates it to another level.

First Love had a resurgence in listens a few months ago due to the Netflix show with the same name (for which the song was featured at the end of a trailer). I haven’t watched the show, but my friend kept talking about it, so now the song has been stuck in my head ever since. Funny how that works sometimes.
