The hate on Sylvie boils down to 3 main reasons:
1) people hate her because she’s Loki’s love interest and in their weird possessive relationship over his character they CANNOT get over that (cue incest, selfcest, and “Sylvie is abusive” arguments)
2) people hate her because she got in the way of their m/m ship that the creators never intended to portray romantically in the first place and that has always had a less than 0 chance of happening because it’s Marvel (cue same set of arguments as above)
3) people hate her because she killed HWR and effectively started a new Multiversal war
I don’t even know where to start with that last one.
Yes, she started a war. But HWR was literally committing genocide 24/7. He had an organization of brainwashed people who literally murdered trillions on his behalf ALL THE TIME. Every time a single person steeped out of line, an entire timeline was erased. An entire universe with all the people in it. Just because it was happening quietly doesn’t make it any less fucked - and it definitely doesn’t make it better than a war. A war will have casualties, yes, but a war can also be ended. What HWR was doing was endless.
Another thing that people don’t seem to consider is that HWR is a master manipulator who did the fucking most to antagonize Sylvie from the moment she stepped into the Citadel. Admitting he manipulated her entire existence (“I paved the road, you two just walked down it”), sowing distrust between her and Loki (“you think you can trust this guy?”), yelling at her, telling her she’s a murderer like him (which is laughable, he was killing TRILLIONS)… He WANTED to make her as angry and unwilling to consider his offer as possible. Even Miss Minutes telling Loki he can get all the power he wants was IMO designed to make Sylvie think he might still be craving a throne, further destroying their trust.
Now, why would HWR rile Sylvie up so badly if he genuinely wanted her to consider his offer of taking over guarding the Sacred Timeline?
Because he never wanted her to choose that option. He wanted her to kill him. Whether it was because he was tired of living but didn’t have the courage to end things himself, or because he has a larger plan (sending Ravonna away on a mystery mission seems to point to the latter), Sylvie only did what he wanted her to do. He used her to the last.
Also, at the time, he was arguably the most powerful person in existence. If he didn’t want her to kill him, I highly doubt she would’ve gotten the chance to. He was only “defenseless” because he wanted to be.
Sylvie was just a pawn.

currently writing a long post about it but you know when we say "we think Sylvie would want to have a home" it doesn't mean we want her to be a classic wife or to have a 50s domestic life based on stereotypical gender roles and it doesn't mean we're reducing her to Loki's wife or anything. it literally just means we headcanon her having a home. you know. somewhere to return to when she wants, somewhere to rest, to feel safe and good, to let her things. that's all. literally just a home. because she was on the run all her life and never had one. i don't know where this idea of sylki stans reducing Sylvie to a tradwife comes from but it literally doesn't exist. we're just talking about a home. we're talking about her travelling and living a lot of adventures and having her purpose and being passionate and living exciting things and even lots of battles if she wants to (we want her to live everything she wants to live actually) while having somewhere to return to and to call home. the thing she never had. that's all. it shouldn't be that hard to understand but apparently it is. no one talked about a classic 50s domestic life. it's weird some people see it like that and think they made a "gotcha" or proved something by calling this opinion out because no one actually has this opinion.
we literally just talk about a home. nothing more.
sorry if you think having a home make you less of a good female character really (especially when this home implies nothing more than... a home. no stereotypical sexist and classic wife. no housewife. literally just a home).

Theory:
I'm currently convinced Sylvie has, at some point after the events of the finale, settled down in Oklahoma.
More specific, in Broxton.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are pictures of the cars parked at the McDonald's establishment Sylvie's working at.
their license plates are:
Sylvie's car Ford Ranger, Caddo County, Oklahoma, 1969
the red car, Dodge Monaco Wagon, Caddo County in Oklahoma, 1966
the grey Chevrolet, Caddo County, Oklahoma, 1975
the blue car, Caddo County, Oklahoma, 1965 or 1963
the black Ford Ranger, Caddo County, Oklahoma, 1967
One thing these cars all have in common is that they have the same County code. In this case, CA represent Caddo county, Oklahoma.
Broxton is an unincorporated community in Caddo County, Oklahoma.
In the comics, Sylvie Lushton, the Sylvie our Sylvie was based on, originated from Broxton, Oklahoma.
So as a reference to her comics self, I think our Sylvie decided to settle down in Broxton, Oklahoma.
She has a car, Ford Ranger F100 1969's model, obviously has a job at McDonald's and likely even a house.
In fact, they did film for a day or two in a residential area and a house. The people living in that area described the scene as a scene set in "rural America" which could further indicate that the house belongs to Sylvie.

I'm calling it right now: it's going to be revealed that Mobius was a dad before he became a variant and this is why he's so fatherly towards Loki and Sylvie, and when it happens the lokiuses will cry about it being a no homo retcon to squash lokius even though it makes completely sense with everything that have been established about Mobius so far

Loki and Sylvie reunite at her workplace and Sylvie's being dismissive because she's really going through it, but keeps insisting she's happy, that she has a place to stay, a job she likes, friends, she's not alone and is practically living the kind of life she's always wanted and wants to be left alone because she's wasted enough time on dealing with the TVA and the multiverse.
Loki, smart as he is sees right through her but doesn't comment on it, and once he leaves we as the audience see that she's in fact not happy, her home is empty, her job sucks, she doesn't have any friends or anyone, she doesn't fit in and is the loneliest she's ever been. she's just trying to delude herself into thinking this is what she wants.
But obviously that's not the case
and then stuff happens, they reunite again, work together etc.
so at some point towards the end of the season Sylvie gets Loki alone (perhaps another blanket cuddle) and actually admits to him that she still doesn't have anyone and Loki simply replies that that's not true, that she has him (and the rest of his TVA pals)
