There came a moment

When she suddenly knew;

When everything appeared

Fresh and new.

She knew right then

What she had to do;

To her old life

She finally bid, a’dieu.

At one time

It had served her well;

But it ended up becoming

Her own personal hell.

What remained of her old self

Was a fragile shell;

With so many fears

She couldn’t quell.

Finally, she was able

To say goodbye ;

All she knew was

She just had to try,

She set her goal

High in the sky;

Then seized each opportunity

As it came by .

It was a climb

Each and every day;

Some new challenge

Would come her way.

Still she persisted

Come what may;

She knew there was a price

That she had to pay.

For everything

There is an exchange;

For nothing is static

Or remains the same .

There’s a loss

With every gain;

Every memory left behind

Leaves a stain.

One day things

They began to shift;

Images become clearer

Through the dispersing mist.
