Hi there! I came across your artwork by accident (I’m in the Starkid theatre company fandom and your Starkids artwork was in the dash because similar tags) I’m curious, are the Skykids and Starkids your own creation or are they from a pre-existing work? Like is there any lore I need to know to appreciate your art? I think your drawings are really cool and it’s an interesting concept!

HELLO!! I never knew of the Starkid theatre company! That's so cool, though I guess it's caused some confusion haha

So, these characters originate from a game called Sky: Children of the Light. Skykids are canon characters, they're the characters you play as actually, and Starkids are my own creation based on the game :)

I don't think you'll need to know much about the game except its basic plot, which is that Sky:CotL is all about the cycles of life and death, and finding hope for the future. Basically, one way or another, the kingdom exploded and everyone died (fun start), and you as a skykid befriend spirits and other players, bringing light back to the world where darkness was taking over.

I will admit, starkids are a bit self-indulgent, but I'm happy about that. Starkids were made so that I could further interact and enjoy the culture the ancestors/spirits had BEFORE everything blew up

Their campaign got canceled recently, but that doesn't mean their story is ending!

They were a cleric, aka, the biggest damage dealer in the party other than the main DPS lmao - Heka heals everyone to full in one round and then blasts the enemy in a pillar of fire

I really am grateful! I also felt, because it's reached a wider audience, I should put out my own ground rules for them. There aren't many.

I've been in the fandom for four or so years now, so I know very well that these things occur. This is not targeted at anyone, nor in response to anything in particular. This is simply a boundary I would like to set early.

Other than that, I'm excited to see what you all create!! I'm glad you enjoy starkids as much as I do, and I truly hope you take the concept and run with it!

I was inspired by redish limestone that's found in parts of my country.
