Definitely a mutualism relationship though maybe Cool gets hurt every know and then though it’s from outside sources as it’s never Jades fault. I kind of just want to get some nice coffee and let them unwind and forget everything. At this point it would be for their own good to not remember everything that has wronged or hurt them

I think Jade is the only thing Cool truly trusts which only hurts them more whenever he is gone or dead or they are forced to leave him on his own

Mortal view: Cool. Upon first glance, a monster so territorial that apon entering a ten foot radius of any child you will be seen as a threat and dealt with accordingly

Closer view: Cool, a destructive being that enjoys to watch and mess with people

Jade’s veiw: Cool. A being with a not so easily broken spirit that had never felt truly loved. Both the most powerful and most fragile thing I will ever most likely encounter. And one day, they will break. I can only hope and help put them back together when that day comes.

(At least in my head based on other things)

but one is thinking about Cool reliving all the Jade emperors and the Children reminding Cool about the first Jade and thus being violently protective of them, coming off as cruel and violent to those who don’t know Cool well enough

I can see Cool walking around in heaven like a corpse the first time they figure out how to get there and is just absolutely exhausted and is forcing themselves to get to Jade to legit give him a peace of their mind but ends up passing out half way there

We haven’t actually seen Cool kill anything on purpose besides Sabi (RDC’s grandmother) but I doubt they really got their hands dirty. They give off more of a ‘i want to watch the world burn’ kind of vibe

Ah that’s true! Maybe he indirectly causes events that cause pain to see and remember that he’s alive and doesn’t need to run (even if he still does)

The fact that Cool might have killed the first Jade matches with your idea that he gets externally clingy to get rid of the feeling/need to kill or betray Jade as they never want to do it again

Of course they can’t always control their impulses but still
