As a self-insert kin, sometimes I feel as though I'm not as cheery or adventurous as I should be. Or that my F/O would be heartbroken to see me in this state because I'm not the same.

Which is awfully silly. It's still me! Things are hard, but that doesn't mean I've lost my spark.

Shoutout to those who are very particular about how your kintype is portrayed. Those who have to deal with frustrating stigmas surrounding your kintype. Those who struggle to find anything that feels like you.

Personally, I'm extremely particular with winter. It's frustrating when people portray winter as evil, a harbinger of death, something that needs to be driven off, or inferior to fire.

It's frustrating when people think winter-themed = Christmas-themed. When people associate winter more with warm colors and fire than the cold itself; defining winter by the ability to defy it.

It can be isolating to see winter shown in dull and desaturated colors, when I see it in bright blues, pastel lavenders, rich teals, and more. To see winter shown in elegant dainty aesthetics when that's not at all how I dress.

But you know what? You don't need to adhere to any archetype or aesthetic. You know what you like best, after all. You're more than what people associate with you and your kind.

Go out there and make the outfits, the playlists, the stories, the positivity you want to see! Take pride in your unique style! Who knows, other people might see it and realize they're not alone ouo

Things that I just inexplicably Vibe With

- When a storm is coming and the clouds are this dark gray blue and the wind is howling and you can smell rain

- This specific light cream color. Vanilla ice cream, butter pecan ice cream, barn owls, angel vibes.

- Finding magic in old posts. Searching through long inactive blogs as if it were a cave. Nostalgia for something you never experienced. A yearning for community
