"When we tell stories, we like for them to have a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Preferably a triumph.
But a lot gets left out in this simplistic, “rising arc” type of narrative. Namely, the messy stuff — the false starts, the failures, the crises of confidence.
And for me, that’s the most important stuff. Hearing about those moments is what makes people human and what makes their successes seem attainable to us mere mortals."

The absolute worst part about being sick, to me, is being stuck at home but incapable of doing anything productive. It’s torture! 🤧

RT @imcatnoone: ❗️DESIGN & TECH COMMUNITY ❗️ While I think I know the 2 I’ll pick, there are 5 others that deserve the opportunity to attend @dribbble’s Hang Time to learn and connect. Are there any design / tech companies willing to sponsor a ticket(s) for each? RT or connections = 🖤

RT @mikeindustries: @lolding I stole this from @jlax but the main difference between a junior and senior designer is the ability to create clarity from ambiguity. Both can solve well-defined problems, but the latter is as comfortable investigating the problem as they are creating the solution.

Great interaction designers—as well as digital designers in general—have three things at their core, says @nyff: empathy for users, storytelling chops, and the instinct to prototype https://t.co/dL019cQhxQ

"Sketch is only good for digital product design!" False. Like any tool: it's as good as your methods for using it https://t.co/wuDaktMc50

RT @cameronmoll: Design is the minimum: Good design is the minimum bar. It facilitates a conversation. Everything above the bar—critical thinking, strategy & vision, relationships, etc—is what leads to a successful hire, successful product outcome, successful team DNA, etc.

Here Seth Godin explains why those "500+ design tools!" lists aren't actually helpful. "If you’re on the offering side, it’s on you to be smart about the multiple choice options that can unfold new horizons." https://t.co/Uun9sjnm37

What makes someone a senior designer is not just how their designs look. Yes, experienced designers are exemplary in their craft, but they're also: trustworthy and reliable, influential, and have an ability to see how their work impacts a bigger picture and timescale.

"The best leaders help employees navigate what’s fuzzy, provide structure around about what needs to happen, and reveal why the work matters. But you can’t do that as a leader if your nose is in your email inbox all day." https://t.co/syvUPiQE68
