Abusive parents are very good at manipulating.
They can make everyone think they’re loving parents.
They can make their kids believe that abuse is normal.
They can make you believe you owe them everything.
They can make themselves believe that they are right.
They can make you believe that it was your fault.

Yep. It can also be called “asynchronous development.” It is hell. life is a constant pendulum of total and complete boredom and total and complete confusion. Even better is when you actually go to get tested and the doctor is like you have a condition but it’s mild and I think you're just fine it probably doesn’t even affect you that badly aND i’M liKE I cAN ComPeNSaTE why do you think I wanted the testing in the first place (definitely because I’m totally not being affected whAT nO)
my dad is a bit of a Shit and believes that I can't have ADHD cause I'm 'too clever' but my mum's booked me an appointment on friday and she says if he's wrong he owes her fifty quid
Ha PLEASE tell me how this goes!!!
There are a group of people called “twice exceptional” people. They are twice exceptional because they are wicked smart and also have a pretty bad disorder.
You can seriously smart and still have really bad ADHD. It’s common for these people to just be able to hide it a little better.
For this reason they are often pretty underdiagnosed!

I hate posts that talk down on neurotypicals who use stim toys. The labels don’t matter. There are a lot of undiagnosed people out there, as well as neurotypicals who benefit from stim toys.
If a stim toy helps you focus or calm down, great! Stim all you want!
If you want to use your stim toy quietly during class, amazing! Just don’t disrupt the class.
If you want to do tricks with your stim toy, awesome! That’s so cool! Please don’t do it at school or in an inappropriate place where you could get them prohibited.
If you just think stimming is cool, please don’t do it in a way that harms the people who need it!
Stimming is for everyone, but please keep in mind of those who need or are helped by stimming!
Neurotypicals can reblog!

How fast you process information is not an accurate method of determining someone's intelligence, plus many learning disabilities cause you to process information slower, and “stupid, slow, or dumb” tend to be ableist expressions for shaming people with learning deficiencies.
ELI5: What's the difference between someone who has a learning disability and someone who's just stupid/slow/dumb?
I would think of it in terms of a computer.
Stupid or dumb would just be someone with a slow processor. Everything works fine, it just doesn’t work that fast.
A learning disability would be a hardware defect. Maybe there is a problem in ram causing a corruption of data… the computer is working perfectly fast enough, it just encounters errors which make it difficult to complete a certain task.
Explain Like I`m Five: good questions, best answers.
