COVID19 Updates: 09/08/2021

RUMINT (US):  A friend of mine posted tonight on social media about a friend of hers who had died. The woman was very young, and no cause of death was listed, so my first thought was that it was some sort of tragic accident. I went to the Go Fund Me that was linked, and it turned out she died of Covid. The woman was young (under 30, I think), wore masks, and was fully vaxxed. She left behind two young kids. She was a fit, healthy-looking young woman. I don't know anything about whether there were underlying conditions or not, but her family and friends all seemed quite shocked by her passing. The Go Fund Me was to provide something for her children. Every time I listen to someone like Chris Martenson, or others like him, who say that Delta is actually not as bad as the media makes it sound, I almost become convinced ... until I hear something like this, and it reminds me that this variant is infecting and sometimes killing young, cautious, vaxxed people.

RUMINT (US):  OK. So now a first for me. TBH, previously I've known no one directly who has died either of the covid19 or the trial vaccination. Now that has changed. 26 year old mum, has child of 9 months, died three days after trial vaccination. Foremost it's a tradgedy for her & close ones.

RUMINT (US):  I ran into my first employee shortage situation today that directly affected me. Sure I read about it and hear stories about it, but it happened. I went to Panera today over the holiday weekend and wanted to eat in the dining room. It was in the afternoon, so it was safely not crowded. On the door it stated "We will be closing the dining room at 2:00 p.m. on September 5, 2021 and will be reopening it at 6:00 a.m. on September 6, 2021. This is due to staffing shortages and we are sorry for any inconvenience. The drive-through remains opened." This is someplace that I do not want carry out from. Plus, I needed to go shopping after that and did not have anywhere to eat the food except my vehicle if I went through the drive through. I don't want to eat soup and salad in my front seat. It is not conducive for fine dining. I went on in because there was one booth filled with people. At the registers, the manager said they were closed due to staffing issues. The drive through was open. There was someone else that came in right behind me to dine in. I asked her why they were short staffed, me thinking that maybe everyone was on Covid quarantine. She said she did not know but it seemed like no one wanted to work. I asked her if I order through the drive thru if I could eat in the dining room. She replied, "NO!" Then I asked her if I could eat out on the patio. That passed, so that is what I did. The weather was nice. The point is that why is everything so short staffed? I can't believe that people are not wanting to work. My doom-filled mind is wondering if maybe everyone is dead from Covid or maimed or dead from the vaxx?

RUMINT (US):  just got phone call fr relative in pa who is livid because she went to visit her 90 yr old dad in nursing home and was greeted at the door and told the facility is now in quarantine for 2 wks because 1 of the staff tested positive for covid. she said the facility assured her that all of their staff had been vaccinated. i told her that the staff person could have been vaccinated and still caught covid, but she insisted not possible. in any case, she was so upset that i just let it go. as an aside, i am big college football fan, watching some of these games with stadiums packed with like 70,000 people, no masks...

Gets a CT in ER and shit it’s pancreatic cancer. Docs and nurses  explain it’s early. They can still treat this. He needs a big surgery but we have to delay it.

China:  One thing is very clear. China are behaving absolutely nothing like us. They are treating this virus as though it kills at least 50%. You know, there's a chance it just might.
