We all care about the turtles, the seals, the oceans, obviously. Notice how the easiest thing to yell about was something that would barely affect anything but appealed heavily to emotional discourse.

The disabled community is huge, and it can be joined by anyone. Most of those As Seen On TV products were invented for us. Society still mocks us and ignores us, and often outright harms us in multiple ways.

Communicate better. Listen better. But stop putting us out in the cold because you are inconvenienced by our simplest needs.

Hanna is blind, Volodymyr almost can't walk. Volunteer says that woman was the first to cross the border, they put her on an evacuation cart, but she refused to go further until she felt her husband's hand in her hand. So they waited by the border for Volodymyr. They continued the evacuation only when Volodymyr arrived and Hanna made sure by touch that it's the hand of her husband.

I just watched 20 days in Mariupol - the first Ukrainian movie to win an Oscar, the footage of the first 20 days of russian full scale invasion of Ukraine as seen from Mariupol.

As the director Mstyslav Chernov said, “It is painful to watch. But it should be painful to watch.” And I ask everyone, especially non-Ukrainians, to watch this.

Other than that, I can’t find any words to describe what I just saw. I can only add that I agree with the director’s words: “I wish this film was never made.”

okay so in phil's defense i think one reason he -appears- to 'space out' when dan is talking is bc he and dan know almost everything about each other! so when dan shares, for example, his take on secrets and whether people in general are good secret keepers -- phil already knows how dan feels and has heard his take

so it's not that phil doesn't care to listen to dan (bc he does! that's his best friend/soulmate after all), it's just that phil has Heard This One Before, Possibly Multiple Times, so he (it appears to me) is like oh okay it's not super duper necessary that i pay attention to every word -- bc he already knows the gist of what dan's saying about this particular topic bc he's told phil this before.

but when dan is telling us the viewers The Thing he might take some time to say it accurately -- bc as we know, dan likes to be very intentional with his words.

and so we get the dan-yapping phil-space-out-stare
