“But don’t you need to know what i-it looks like to un-understand the book? If the p-person reads the book and d-doesn't know it is then th-they might be really confused and n-not get it or something. I guess s-so but I don't k-know how real that news was. Sometimes it w-was really weird 'cause it wasn't 'b-bout where we live. Yeah."

“i dunno, but p-probably somethin’ bad. b-bad things usually happen m-most of the time but n-not always. yea b-but they always b-bring your stuff t-t-to you so you don't g-gotta get up 'n g-get it for yourself. m-maybe, but i don't think s-so. no doctors call me t-t-tucker, so that d-doesnm 't make a whole l-lotta sense if you th-think 'bout it for a l-long time. um. n-not really. why?"

“you should tell ‘em that, maybe they’ll listen to you. no, it’s just a saying. well you’re dad’s not here and his friends for sure aren’t getting in here so, i think you’re safe to fall asleep in here. plus, if you don’t sleep you’re just gonna end up back in here and i doubt you really want that. you should make ‘em tell you. you deserve to know if your real name is tucker or corey. dunno, most of them annoy me.”

“i d-dunno, they don’t really s-seem to like to listen t-to people who aren’t th-them. you n-n-never know. somethin’ could h-happen when i’m sl-sleepin’ and ruin things. its k-kinda nice here actual-ly. quiet. y-yeah but i-i-ive never beenm called tucker before. if i had a f-fake name wouldn't my s-sister have one t-too? that doesn't m-make a lot of sense to me. oh. why? i-i don't know too m-many people to be an-nnoyed with them."

Oliver usually hated his job in the medical wing, but there were moments that made it so incredibly worth it… moments such as when the patients were high out of their minds. “You’ve read the story about the butterfly, right?”

“Umm..” Corey hesitated, blinking a few times before shrugging. “I-I-I’ve never seen a butterfly in real l-life, but they’re kinda c-cool. I saw one o-on t.v. o-once. My d-d-dad didn't like us to r-read a lot of th-things, so we a-always would w-watch t.v. S-Sometimes the news w-would come on, is th-that the same thing?"

“welcome to the medical wing, where they never have anything good on ever. it’s just another way to say my neighborhood, sort of. why didn’t you want to sleep? no, probably not. so don’t tell ‘em i looked i’ll probably get in trouble. but if they said it’s your name, they probably didn’t give you the wrong one. did you ask ‘em about it? yeah but your dad also wasn’t the best, we’ve been through this. that’s what you think, bub. ‘cause you’re one of the few people i actually like in here.”

“w-why? they should if p-people live here. so you’re h-house is here? that’s cool, i w-wish my house wa-was here. i d-d-don’t like to sleep at night c-cause my dad was a-always home at night and s-sometimes hes fr-friends would come over a-a-and i didn’t want any-anythin’ to go wrong s-so i stayed ‘wake t-til he fell asleep or w-went to work. th-then i slept for a few hours in the m-mornin’. um. n-no, ‘cause they just tell me n-not to worry ‘bout it and g-give me more medicine. m-maybe. why d-don’t you like other people?”

“the chaos theory? i dunno if it’s real, but i do know that i’m going to kill you. you’re on my turf and don’t even tell me? not to mention you disappeared and no one would tell me where you were so here i come to find you asleep and still no one would tell me why you were in here so i had to do some snooping and i think they have the wrong medical chart because it says your name is tucker so you should probably tell them to fix that. but anyway are you okay? i’m going to kill you if you scare me like that again. i thought you left forever or something, i almost lost my mind.”

“y-yeah, i saw a sh-show on it a few hours a-ago ‘cause they d-dpn’t have anything el-else on. what's a-a turf? i've n-never heard of that 'efore. y-yeah, they wanted m-me to sleep even though i-i-i didn't want to. a-are you 'posed to l-look at that? i didn't s-see it so maybe they d-did give me the wrong one. they s-said my name is that but i d-don't think that's t-true 'cause my d-d-dad never called me that before i-in my whole l-life ever. you c-can't kill me, 'm t-too cute to d-die. why d-did you do that?"

“D-d you think th-that the chaos th-theory is real? ‘Cause I s-saw a d-documentary ‘bout how ev-everything we do an-and stuff is a-all connect-ted and that s-something that’s ran-ndom isn’t really a-at all and that we a-all do things that ev-everything we do c-cause somethin’ else and th-that it's like a d-dominio and that w-we all do s-stuff that causes a r-reaction that h-happens."
