Happy two years! 

It’s Deaderpool’s Discord’s 2nd Anniversary!

Two years ago today (February 26, 2017), itsug created a server on Discord for Deaderpool, and a new kind of Sims 4 adventure, offering MC Command Center support via Discord live chat, was begun.  It’s been a wild ride, a few ups and downs along the way, but we have come a LONG way from our “humble beginnings.”

From starting with mostly MCCC oriented support, we’ve branched out.  Once Deaderpool added lastException notifications to MCCC, it made sense for the Support Team to respond to those, too… and now the Help Center channels are much more active than the MCCC channels have ever been… which is as it should be.

We’ve grown from “no frills” and having about five active channels into a server with too many channels to see at once on the screen.  We’ve added a couple of bots, and a few fun tags users can self-apply.  Our membership stays over 10,000 strong.  We’ll see 14,000 this week.

When you visit the server and verify your account, feel free to look around.  In Read First! you’ll see our rules and guidelines, a few things to help streamline server operations.  We also offer a well-stocked Library and Archive channel, please browse that, worm5cherry’s worked hard on adding a lot of cool info there.

Announcements are posts for Big News, like patches, and MCCC updates.

Everyone coming to our discord for assistance should always start in the Help Center.  Our two main channels there are general_support and lastexceptions_here, and they are fairly interchangeable.  I’d like to mention we do have a bilingual channel for players whose first language is not English, as well as a “hidden” channel for “adult mod” support.  (Check rules for how to role yourself into that one.)

Please Pick ONE of the two channels, post your file (drag and drop, NOT copy and paste, it’s horrible reading on Discord) and add any problem details, and Wait.  Patience (and manners) from players is appreciated by all of us on the Team.  Double-posting leads to wasted effort, so PLEASE do not post to more than one channel with the same issue, unless we have asked you to move.

If you have a lastException.txt from the game, lastexceptions_here is the place to be.  If you have a MCCC log error (mc_cmd_center text file), those we’ll look at either there or in general_support for you, and if it is something needing Deaderpool’s attention, we’ll have you repost it, into one of his channels.

LastExceptions do not belong in the Deaderpool’s Domain channels.  The Support Team handles those, Deaderpool does not.  And since MOST log errors these days are just from MCCC catching either mod or game errors, we’d prefer to look at those first elsewhere, rather than have them going straight to Deaderpool.  

If it’s over our head, we’ll let you know.  But the Team is absolutely capable of handling most errors posted to the server without having to ask him for help.  (Which gives him more time for doing things like coding new goodies into MCCC.)

We do have channels outside the “support” sections, too.  I haven’t even touched on the things in the Playground yet.  Chat, Networking, a pair of Creator channels… and more.  Come see!!

According to the current situation that our community is losing a space to be free in their creativity to write and create what we all love I came up with an idea how it could be possible that we can continue and do what we love.

Here is the thing. I love our Sims-Community so much that I thought it would be truly sad to lose all those wonderful CC-Creators, CC-Rebloggers  Storytellers etc. I gained new friends and met wonderful people it would be a shame to lose you guys. 

In real life am a Marketing Manager so this is my field of profession. I made a reservation for the domain simblrs.com. If you love the Sim-Community as much as I love. May you are able to contribute:

I wrote already a concept of how I picture this to be - similar to a site we all know =D. It will contain a bunch of sims-related content and I think this would be insanely cool to have something like this.

I will also set up a patreon page within the next few days, for those who are willing to support this idea financially. Make sure to follow on Twitter “simblrs” for further updates!

I did set up also a Discord called “simblrs” this will be the space where all the simmers can join who want and can contribute to making this project happen. You will need to tell me how you can imagine to contribute and be a part of this new “Simblrs Community” and you will be invited.

Post-Patch Info (Sims 4)

Who’s up for a links post?Here are the patch notes for Sims 4 1.48.90.

As expected with most patches, 1.48.90 broke UI Cheats.  It has been updated, you can download version 1.12 here

Not so expected, something EA changed required a MCCC 6.0.1 hotfix.

Wicked Whims also took a hit from 1.48.90, try deleting your WW folder inside /saves if you get an error.  Come to Deaderpool’s Discord if you need help with public WW, we do have a channel for that.

The sack lunch error can be fixed with a mod from LittleMsSam.

Another common error we’ve seen is from Apartment Hangouts, Roburky posted a mod to stop those.

THINK ABOUT ME: A TS4 EYESET (Download)

First piece of CC for TS4 in quite a while. This is a recreation of my newest TS2 eyeset. Contains 22 human defaults (18 defaults + 4 additional colors), GTW alien defaults, Vampire defaults, and pet eye defaults.

This are a mashup of bits and bobs from different creators: Iris from @cupidjuice’s Opal set, catchlights from @reticulates‘s Daydreamin eyes, sclera from @pyxiidis, and my own color palette. 

Note that some of the default colors are changed quite significantly from the originals, like one of the grays was replaced with a dark blue, and I added some more non-hazel greens.

Notes on MCCC 6.0.0 (Sims 4)

Survived the November patches, and another birthday, too (Dec 6).  NOW I’ll admit it’s officially the Christmas/Holiday Season.

About those two Sims 4 November patches… from what we’ve seen on Deaderpool’s Discord, some folks still need to do some cleaning up in your Mods folders.  

First, check MCCC.  Version 6.0.0 paths in lastExceptions should look like this:

File “D:\SVN\S4_Modules\mc_cmd_center\mc_utils.py" 

not

File ”D:\Users\mhrug\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Python WIP Mods\S4_Modules\mc_cas\mc_cas_inject.py“ 

I have seen both paths in the same lastException.  That is definitely not how MCCC should be installed.  Mixing up versions is a Bad Idea.

MCCC 6.0.0, Installed.  

ALL ts4script files for MCCC 6.0.0 should be dated November 29.  

The two package file dates change whenever Translations are added, right now they’re dated December 5.  (Above screenshot was taken when 6.0.0 was first released.)

Also, on a related subject, I’ve noticed some confusion about the dresser and tuner files.  I believe it comes from this, on the Installation page:

For upgrades, leave your mc_settings.cfg, mc_tuner.cfg and mc_dresser.cfg files

That’s referring to CONFIG files, not the ts4script files included in the zip.  Always delete all package and ts4script files and then add the new ones.  The three files above the blue line are the ones to keep, if you have them, to preserve any settings. You SHOULD have a mc_settings.cfg file.  

You will only have a mc_tuner.cfg file if you have used MCCC’s Autoscan.  

You will only have a mc_dresser.cfg file if you have Saved an Outfit, or Whitelisted or Blacklisted items using MCCC’s Dresser on Sims in your game.

Weekend’s here, it’s an excellent chance to straighten up your files a bit.  As always, if you play via Origin, are updated, and have an error come up, feel free to visit Deaderpool’s Discord for help.

crisscross dress

I did a recolour! ...like 4 months ago... and now I’m finally sharing it! 

This is my very first recolour. Of anything. Ever. It’s using my very own cool beans palette which contains 30 swatches (note the amount of greens, I like greens) and it’s that basegame dress that I fondly refer to as “crisscross dress” that originally only has like 4 swatches.

LANDGRAAB ESTATE

The Landgraab mansion, re-imagined and based on TS3 design. I wanted to take the best aspects of their S3 mansion and give it more of a historic feel, as if it’s been the oldest home in Willow Creek (”...Nancy’s family more or less founded the town...”). Features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a butler’s quarters in the attic. Kitchen with breakfast nook, laundry, dining room with bar, study/library, living room for entertaining with parlor area, and a home theatre room upstairs. The garden features manicured hedges, flowerbeds, pond with fountains and a swimming pool.

Keep in mind I had designed this imagining the Landgraabs have Malcolm as a child and Johnny as a teen, with Geoffrey and Nancy working their S3 careers (surgeon and CEO), the study is meant for Nancy. Maybe this is right before Johnny decides he wanted to become a comedian? Before the Landgraabs disown him. (It works in my head, okay!) Part of my “The Original Sims” project. I hope to put up my redesigned Landgraab family soon as well.

classic modern fridge retexture

i loved this refrigerator at first glance, but the brushed metal texture made it hard for me to pair it with other kitchen essentials so i found myself giving it a bit of a makeover. the new texture is smoother, cleaner, and a bit more versatile in my opinion. there’s two options for download, one file adds a separate fridge to your game with the new textures and the other file overrides the old ea fridge completely.

What's Wrong With My Sims 4 Game??

If you’re asking this question, chances are, you’ve run into either a broken mod, broken cc, or EA errors.  Any error can generate a lastException in your /Sims 4 folder.  

Players with MC Command Center or Wicked Whims are notified of them in game.  Players not using either mod still get them, they just don’t know, unless something gets really strange in game, the game crashes, or the player actually sees the lastException file(s) in the Sims 4 folder.

Broken CC is the number one cause for lastCrash files.  Outdated UI mods are likely to show you lastUIExceptions.  The first step to fixing either is to check download sites and make sure your mods and custom content are ALL up to date for the current patch.  Anything can break, depending on what EA does to the game code.

If you’re interested in doing some of your own troubleshooting, reading the LE is where to start.   You can open it with a text editor. (Note I said “reading,” not “understanding.”)

Recently we’ve been seeing several of the same errors over and over on Deaderpool’s MCCC Discord.  So, here’s a partial “what’s going on” rundown, up to and including the 1.41 EA patch.

Event goals (parties, dates, etc.) are broken.  EA will have to fix them.  If you look at the LE, you’ll see this:

Exception raised while trying to run a test event in test_events. py: (TypeError: ‘NoneType’ object is not iterable)

The workaround is to have events without goals, and to hold off trying to complete the Party Animal aspiration.  (Play other sims, or choose a different aspiration, for now.)

Broken ghosts are showing up in some “older” saves.  Here’s how to fix those, by Nies.

resend_at_work_infos: caused by broken ghosts.

Fix:

Give all households without a name in the household menu a household name.

Additional: Use MCCC’s Mailbox -> Hide households -> Hide said sims in order for them to not show up in the “Other Households” menu anymore

Pets are causing get_focus_bone errors.  Tysakasa came up with a partial fix, using MCCC’s Autoscan function.

For those who are seeing a lot of error reports referring to 'get_focus_bone’ we believe we have found a solution to the problem until EA releases an update to officially address this.

You will want to open up your mc_tuner.cfg file found within your MCCC’s folder and add the following to your list:

164920,pet_Investigate_SniffNewObjects

If you do not have a mc_tuner.cfg file inside your MCCC folder, download and place the file there. Then delete your localthumbcache.package in /Sims 4.

If this error persists even after adding this line, please let us know in detail what happened leading up to the error. We may ask for your save file so we can test and look to see what else could be added to help smooth things over.

Traits break often, and a lot of them are.  If you see a line like this:

Caught exception loading reference. RefName: 158875 Manager: InstanceManager_interaction. TunableReference is set to a value that is not allowed by its class restriction.

You probably have broken traits or aspirations.  "RefName" is what to look for.  LONG numbers there point to mods, more than to cc.

Some error messages will show you WHAT broke, like this:  

AttributeError: 'pbox_notebook_tuning’ object has no attribute 'get_focus_bone’  

But, there’s an exception, sometimes you’ll see mods listed that use injectors, and are only being “caught” by the eror-catching in MCCC or WW.  It’s always a good idea to CHECK any file you see in a lastException, but some are likely to be fine.  It depends on where and how they show up.
