3: Betrayal
he day of the riot finally arrived. I went to work as usual, waiting for the signal from the scroll that Winter had given me to start the riot. Soon my scroll buzzed, and I attacked the nearest mine over seer, sparking the riots. Fighting as one, we made our way to the surface, where we were met with heavy resistance. Soon the White Fang arrived, but unfortunately so did the military. I quickly ushered the Faunus towards the escape craft, but the resistance from the military made things difficult. I soon realized that the military would have to be dealt with, so I stayed behind and attacked them, buying the escaping Faunus valuable time. I held my own against the military onslaught, but then everything shifted when I drove a pickax through one of the soldiers right arms. The shock of what I had done caused the remaining remaining military forces to subdue me and the rest of the workers still at the mines. Luckily the White Fang managed to escape, but unfortunately, the riots were over. My chance at freedom was gone.
With our subsequent defeat and capture, I and some of the other Faunus involved in the riots were put on trial. Those of us they found to be  the organizers of the riot would be branded on our foreheads as a symbol to the other Faunus not to try anything else like this ever again. Soon  it was my turn to be branded. Shackled in chains and gagged so I couldn't speak, I was displayed in front of the entire camp for everyone to see. But to my shock and horror, the one who would be branding me was none other than Winter herself. As she approached me with the hot iron in her hand, I began to thrash and tried to scream at her for help, but my chains were too tight and my screams were muffled by the gag around my mouth. Then, the one I once called my friend branded me with the Schnee Dust Company logo, not on my forehead, but on my left eye, blinding me with incredible pain!
After I recovered, I went back to work, but soon I decided to escape on my own and found my way into the White Fang. I never saw Winter again after that day, but I had heard that she had joined with the Atlas military. If I ever saw her again, I'd be the one to kill her, but not before she knew the suffering her and her family caused me. My sources told me that her little sister Weiss and her team are going to a small town called Argus. If I can get to her sister, I can make her pay. She will pay for the pain she has caused me, I swear on my life!

2: The enemy of my enemy
a few days after my mother was taken away, the girl from before came back. I told her to go away, but she said she was going to take me to see my mother's grave so I could mourn. Reluctantly, I agreed to go, but she didn't take me to the graveyard where the other workers were buried. Instead, she showed me to a fancier graveyard, where she lead me to my mothers grave. Her tombstone was simpler compared to the rest of the graves there, but It had been decorated with many beautiful flowers, which the girl, who told me her name was Winter Schnee, picked out and decorated herself. Sitting in front of her grave, I suddenly began to cry over the loss of my mother, with Winter comforting me.
Over the next few years, Winter would occasionally stop by to make sure I was okay, often bringing me nice food and other necessities. Slowly we began to talk to each other, bonding over our shared disgust of her father and the shape of the labor camp and mines. These frequent visits continued like this until when I was 13, when I told her that I wanted to free the Faunus from this camp and leave a free man. After learning of this, she told me about a group of Faunus called the White Fang that could help me, and with that we began to plan the escape. Secretly I began to recruit other Faunus to the plan, while Winter made contact with the White Fang.
Our plan was pretty simple, while she used her resources to broadcast the poor labor conditions to all of Remnant, I'd spark a riot within the mines, which would lead to the White Fang coming in on airships to lift as many of us out of the mines as they could. After three years, everything was set in motion. The day before the breakout, Winter and I sat together, reminiscing on our past friendship and being sad that it would be a long time before we would see each other again. Before she left, I kissed her on her forehead and told her how much what she was doing meant to me. In return, she gave me a hug, which i returned, and told me that if we ever saw each other again, we should run away together. And with that, we said our goodbyes

1: Where it all began
The Schnee dust company mine labor camp. No place fit for a Faunus, certainty not a young male Faunus and his mother, but there we were. For the first part of my life, those labor camps were all that I knew about, and the only thing that mattered to me was my beloved mother. I never knew what became of my father, if i even had one, so it was just the two of us. But my mother did her best. She often had to work long days in the mines, so on those days she would leave me in the care of our elderly neighbor, though I never much remember her or her name, but she was nice. By the time I was six though, she had passed away, leaving me with just my mother to care for me. Being young and naive, I decided to help my mother out in the mines, much to her dismay. There was no age limit t getting in, so I thought It was a good idea.
The mines were hell. Nothing but back breaking labor from morning till night, with barely any time for a break. The only thing that kept me from going insane was my mother, as long as she was there, I was happy. But soon that happiness was about to be stripped away from me. One day, about one month after my 10th birthday, my mother suddenly collapsed in the mine after helping an injured little girl. The doctor who examined her said that she had fallen I'll due to malnutrition. I never realized the big plates of food I was eating was meant of two people, she always lied and say she would eat after I'd gotten to bed. This whole time she had been giving me her food, how could I have been so Naive? I stayed by her bed everyday, trying to get her to eat to get her back to full strength, but she always refused, telling me that I needed the food more than her. I couldn't lose her, she was all I had!
One morning, I prepared to go into the mines, as usual, but on this particular day, the mines were closed due to Grim activity. Once I got our rations for the day, I ran home to wake mother up so we could spend the day together, no mines, no neighbors, just us. I ran inside quickly and shook her bed, but she didn't move. I tried once again but she still didn't wake up. I shook and shook the bed over and over, yelling and begging for her to wake up, until i was too tired and upset to continue. I collapsed on the floor and began to cry, but I suddenly noticed the girl my mother helped from before, as well as the man standing next to her, who was none other than her mother, Willow Schnee. Angrily I lashed out at them, yelling at them to go away, but the Schnees had me restrained as they and their assistance walked in and began to drag my mothers body away. I screamed at them for the way the were treating my mothers body, until I heard the girl tell them to stop, asking that they treat her with a little more respect. They complied, putting my mother on a stretcher and taking her away.
