buying a new CD = buying an animal from a breeder (not ideal, but often necessary if you need something specific. ex: a purebred dog; a little-known album)
buying a used CD = rescuing an animal from a shelter (altruistic, giving a second chance and a loving home to a creature that wouldn't otherwise have it. ex: an elderly dog, a damaged but "good condition" disc)
burning a blank CD yourself = ??????? childbirth.

kmfdm was too abstract and they got reified. they called for violence but because they didn't assert their actual politics strongly enough over their music they got picked up by nazi kids. not that this is relevant anymore.

This is the only known picture of it.
A lifeform that has eluded many a biologist and zoologist. The one behind creatures being referred to "musculus nodis"- Very special, unknown beings whose bodies appear to be outwardly comprised of a tangled mass of muscle tissue.
Though, in The Clergy's Eye, specimen "Purpur" is simply referred to as a "living meatball".
Tumblr media
Did you ever wonder where he came from? Because you're not the only one. These recently discovered lifeforms don't seem to have reproductive instincts, or genitalia for that matter. The few that have been captured, and studied in the wild, never seemed to reproduce through asexual means either. So where do they keep coming from?
Well, the being you just saw, caught by surprise, holds the answer. Not that anyone officionally really knows how yet. Capable of reproducing asexually, this process generates entities like Purpur.
Tumblr media
See, every Spring, without even noticing, this monster becomes gravid, and gestates within his body one "muscle ball". When ready to emerge, these younglings tend to "pop" off his back- Like a suriname toad, but very suddenly.
He's entirely oblivious to this process, and finds the things that pop off his body slightly disgusting, definitely doesn't consider them to be children of his. And there's some logic to his reaction, given the two entities are different species entirely.
The creatures that look like Purpur exhibit limited cognitive function, being more on the realm of extremely sociably adaptable animals than people. Meanwhile, the other being exhibited is a lot more humanoid in both appearance and behavior.
There is no real explanation as to why this is the case, though there's a theory running around detailing that an unknown organism somehow parasitically invaded a humanoid host body and formed the elusive monster photographed, who periodically spreads a subspecies of itself- The musculus nodis.
Only a couple of things are known about the photographed being:
It's extremely camera shy and aggressive towards field machinery, able to detect it easily;
He speaks an unknown dialect;
The mouths on his body are not actually used for consumption of food, their position and number varies, researchers have caught glimpses of this monster barren of mouths;
The presence of a pelvic slit suggests sexual drives and reproduction may be on the table.
