Samuel gazed at the TV for a moment before he looked back to Mercedes. He nodded slowly, listening quietly as Mercedes spoke. “Yeah... but that’s because they don’t have their babies daddy’s around... I’m here...” He breathed out. “So...” He trailed off shrugging a little. He definitely missed Mercedes a lot more than he was willing to openly come out his mouth and say. “Yeah... C-can... Sam come over to hang out and too? If he wants?” He asked swallowing hard.

Samuel sighed out gently, rubbing his fingers across the stubble on his chin. “No, I need to.” He said softly. “We both know I should be there helping you... not your ma... but...” He trailed off, dropping his head a little, shaking it. “That’s good.” He said lifting his head with a soft smile, watching the child drink from the bottle. “Oh yeah, that’s good.” He said gently before he shifted. “Yeah... she misses you but she’s too prideful to admit it... to me.” He told her honestly, a small chuckle passing his lips. “But I can just see it.”

Shifting against the headboard, Samuel nodded his head slowly. “I’m sorry.” He said honestly, knowing he should be by her side to help her through it - to rub her back and pull her hair out the way, give her ginger-ale and peppermints to calm her stomach. Sighing out he rubbed his hand down his face feeling bad about it. “Yeah... it’s a causality of love...” He said after a moment or two before he chuckled, rubbing his neck a little. “Yeah... so... how’s Eli been?” He asked her gently. “Is your mom adjusting well? Erin’s been asking about you.”

Bit his lip softly as he watched on through the small iPad screen before him. Licking his lips, he chuckled softly as Elijah got what he wanted and stopped crying. Shaking his head, he rubbed his fingers through his hair, looking to Mercedes. “Ah... Uh... I’m alright.” He said to her. “How are you?” He asked. “How’s the new baby treating you?” He questioned. “You look good.”

Samuel sat back, smiling at the child before his eyes shifted to Mercedes as Elijah fought against her. He watched on in silence looking at Elijah as he struggled against Mercedes before he simply began to cry. “Awe, it’s okay Eli. You’re going to get your bottle, I just wanted to say hi.” He said gently. “It’s alright.” He said to Mercedes. “It’s my fault. I know what time it is.” He chuckled. “I wasn’t even thinking.”

Samuel watched as the video started up and he smiled at the sight of the two of them. “Hey, hey.” He said waving back. “How you doing little man?” He asked the baby boy with a light chuckle before he moved in to kiss the screen. “Love you Eli.” He breathed out.

Samuel licked his lips as he clicked around on his iPad before he pressed call on facetime, watching it load up and dial Mercedes.

Mercedes: shook her head "no, no we can Sammy" she said using his nickname accidentally. "Give me a second" she said groaning as she sat Elijah up against his pillow and she sat her phone up against her laptop as she grabbed her silk robe to cover her body with, tying it off.

Samuel: nodded his head, his face turning light red at her using his nickname and he smiled gently. "Alright. Take your time." He said as he adjusted on the bed, grabbing his iPad to use instead. Sitting his phone on the nightstand, he turned the iPad on, grabbing it's case and sliding it on to stand it up in his lap.

Mercedes: smirked at Eli "say hey daddy" she giggled again. Mercedes heard Sam and pursed her lips cutting her eyes at him. "Sure if you want it would be better..." she trailed of sitting Elijah up a bit more.

Samuel: bit his lips softly, hearing the tone in Mercedes voice and he sighed softly. "We don't have to if you don't want to." He said even as he put his phone on speaker and clicked over to face-time, prepared to call her.

Mercedes: shook her head licking her lip as she sat down with Elijah. "Sure" she said softly as she held the phone to Elijah, Elijah looked to the Iphone 6. "Say hey to daddy baby" she said softly as he stuck his tongue out licking the phone slightly. "No, no" she giggled "talk to him."

Samuel: bit back a smile as he listened to Mercedes shift around with the phone. After a moment he said. "Hey little man." He laughed softly at himself. "Hey... Mercy... it might be better if we face time..." He trailed off gently.

Mercedes: licked her lips hearing Samuel's voice. "Hey you" she breathed chuckling at him as she nodded despite "yes he is, he's right here" she giggled.

Samuel: rubbed his lips together, reaching for the remote to turn the TV on, turning the volume down before he chuckled, stalling. "Can I talk to him?"

Samuel: bit his lip softly as he rested in the bed, holding the phone to his ear as he waited.

Mercedes: answered her phone holding Elijah in her arms as she did. "Hello?"

Samuel: shifted slightly, rubbing his cheek a little. "Hey." He said softly, a small smile tugging at his lips. "Uh..." He trailed off. "Is little man still awake?"
