As a rule of thumb, don't reblog donation posts or people asking for donations unless they've been vetted and reblogged by Palestinian bloggers. i also want to mention that this youtube video by Koofy has unavoidable strobe lighting at the start, accompanied by a blaring noise. There’s no other flashing lights that i know of during the rest of the video. i haven’t watched him in a long time, so i’m not sure if there’s flashing lights in any other of his videos. if there is, please let me know!

as much as i love the song Mesmerizer, the music video literally has extreme strobe lighting throughout WITHOUT WARNING. Not a lot of people seem to be talking about this. I’m not epileptic myself, but flashing lights get me all jittery because of my health anxiety. I think it’s important to spread the word.

This also goes for the song Yababania. i can’t even watch the music video cause it hurts my eyes.

It’s better if you appreciate the songs through lyric videos, as they are much more appealing to the eyes. Remember to watch videos in a well-lit room and sit at least 2 feet away from the screen! I also tested the chrome extension “Seizafe” on the highest setting, and it stops the mesmerizer and yababaina mv just as they start (as long as there’s no ads, make sure to get ublock origin too)

heads up that the music video for "mesmerizer" by 32ki starts immediately with really fucking intense flashing strobing patterns, i dont know if theres any past the beginning of the video because i had to stop watching. i didnt notice any warning beforehand, none in the video description, and i havent seen anyone mention this so id appreciate people sharing this warning because this is seriously dangerous for some people.

I doubt anyone seeing my posts is southern brazilian but it's worth a shot:

1) Stay inside. Even if your city is okay, there's more rain coming, and you could end up stuck somewhere with nowhere else to go. Only leave for necessary things or if you need to evacuate.

2) If you need to evacuate and have pets, get dogs and cats on a leash or a travel box. You can also carry cats on large boxes or pillow cases to be safe. Small pets, try to carry with you, preferably in a proper box so you don't risk them escaping somehow. If you have farm animals, don't lock them in anywhere, open all doors and let them loose, they have a better chance of surviving this way.

3) Again, if you need to evacuate, worry only about getting your documents and medicine. If your area might be asked to evacuate next, already get those things in a bag close to your door for if you need to leave in a hurry. But only worry about the essentials.

4) Get a radio. Yes, the small ones that are battery powered. Yes, those. No matter where you are, there are huge risks of power blackouts and you might not have access to the TV or your phone. The radio is how you'll have access to the news if shit happens.

And most importantly: stay safe and keep watching the news!

Brazil is going through one of the worst climatic crisis ever seen.

i live in the southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. we have been suffering from extreme, nonstop rainstorms for a week now. the rivers are flooding, reaching 4-6 meters above their natural level. people are being rescued by helicopters, neighborhoods are being evacuated. entire cities are slowly but surely becoming submerged in water. 60 people missing and counting. 32 deaths and counting.

and this is not new. last november also had a flood like this one. 50 dead, many material losses. it happened again this january, with thousands being left without power or water for days.

three catastrophical disasters within less than a year. three disasters only a few months apart.

this is not natural.

unsustainable agricultural practices and politics led to this. a complete disregard for nature led to this. greed led to this. always greed.

when it comes to the climate crisis, i cannot stress this enough: we need to act now if we still want to live. disasters like this are going to happen more often and they're going to be much, much worse. this flood is being considered the worst climatic catastrophe in the history of my state. i don't know how long it will take for another bigger one to happen and take its place. i just know it will be sooner than it should.
