There's this weird tendency among fandom types where they'll take a character, and insist that they are fans of them, before changing their design, age, pronouns, backstory, blood type, species, hometown, favorite color, zodiac sign, medical history, and every other facet of their being.

They will then violently insist that this version is superior to the canon one and act like they "fixed" them and it's like. Buddy that's not the same character anymore. That's just your own oc commiting identity fraud. Like. I get the desire to experiment with different interpretations of a story. But first of all it's okay to just make an original character if that's what you really want to do. And second of all, are you even really a fan of the character you "fixed" if they're a completely different person afterwards?

if you're learning how to cook or branching out or feel like you just are not a very good cook or can't cook at all it is so important to know that when experienced cooks say they're measuring with their heart they are lying to you. They are measuring with their intuition, instinct, and experience, all of which are built by following recipes (written or taught by family), experimenting a lot, or some combination of the two: no matter how they learned, they learned it through cooking way more than you have. If you're trying to cook based on instinct or the assumption that you should just be able to figure it out and you don't like how your food comes out or you don't know where to start, find recipes and follow them to the letter. There is nothing wrong with looking up how to scramble eggs or make a stir fry. It will make your cooking better and easier, I promise.

Gym Leader Darian

Darian is the 7th Gym Leader of the Allustra League. He is usually challenged 7th, though in case of the main story of this region, he and Angelus are the only ones who have to be challenged 7th and 8th respectively. He is the middle child of the leaders of the Allspice Dragon Clan, and his family has lived in Allspice Town for generations. His younger and older brothers are also dragon-type specialists, though Darian is considered the strongest out of the three of them. At a first glance, Darian appears ill-tempered and vicious-- especially when it comes to battling. He's often considered reflective of the tough type he uses. He also is seen as somewhat cold yet competitive. In reality, he's not the bad boy type he portrays. If anything, his fiery side comes out due to passion. He's very used to having to prove himself to those around him to be seen by his clan but especially by his parents. In fact, he used to be the head of the gym leaders for the major Allustra conference. Angelus was the one who swept in and took that from him, and their relationship is best described as complicated. Darian knows the weaknesses of dragons well, so he tries to minimize the amount of shared weaknesses across his team if he can with the dual-typed Pokemon he uses. He also tries to ensure that he has clear answers to fairy-types so he's not bent so easily. He's currently dating Marina, an ice-type specialist and a member of the minor Allustra league. People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
