For real guys, this has gotten out of hand. I’ve seen my fair share of major spoilers here with inadequate warnings or none whatsoever — sometimes not even a day after the episode drops.
Utilizing text cuts (:readmore:) is extremely simple and does the community a huge favor. At the bare minimum, add a large and highly visible spoiler warning. Trust me, a little effort goes a long way.
EVERY TIME I COME ON HERE I GET SPOILED FOR THE NEW EPISODE OF GROTETHE IM TIRED OF YALL

I really like this take! It makes sense, and adds some intrigue to spirits wandering the mortal plane. If this isn’t the canon explanation, it’s definitely the one I’m going with for now.
Does anyone have any idea of how death/the afterlife works in Grotethe??
(Spoilers for most of the campaign so far)
I cannot make heads or tails of the rules of death in this universe, and since death seems to be a recurring theme there has to be some rhyme or reason as to why some come back after death and others don’t, right?
I pretty much understand the whole deal with Carol, since her spirit was tied to a different plane of existence, so she will return there. But what about Wulfman? They seem to know she won’t come back, otherwise they’d just find her ghost. Meanwhile the Karcasuukans apparently have two afterlives (?) one as an undead mummy and the other as a ghost. (I actually forget most of what they said regarding the Karcasuukans, so if anyone remembers I’d appreciate a refresher). And then we have regular folk like Mathilde who become ghosts after death, but apparently they can die again — wether they can return again as a ghost is left ambiguous.
Honestly, if everyone can just come back from death willy-nilly, all of this killing is pointless. There seems to be some rules here, but I can’t figure out what the heck they are. I’d love to discuss this with anyone who’s as interested as I am in figuring this out.
