What would change about Rose Buds?

I can't properly illustrate it yet since my PC got a defect due to lack of ventilation and dust, and I will wait for it to be fixed, but there would be three examples of the actual Howlites for Connie to interact with. (Not sure about their VA, or if they would share a VA with a canon gem type)

There'd be a sassy-snarky one, a vain one, and an overly cheerful one that would be creepily similar to White's Howlite disguise.

Name of the "episode" would probably be "Howlite Pals".

What's with Sapphire? What's her purpose in the swapped Off-Colors?

Actually, besides the swapped Sapphires, the Off-Colors remain largely the same.

Thanks to her perfect future vision, she tends to warn the others about incoming dangers and is less oblivious of dangerous situations, unlike Pad. She’s one of the “straight men” along with the Rutile Twins, though she remains on the aloof, less talkative side like her canon self. Despite it, she has a caring side, shown when she tries to warn Sadie of her death.

“I know you all might be thinking of me as the new White Diamond, but I don’t need to sit on a throne to prove that. I already have a rightful place, and it’s on Earth. It’s a beach house, where I live with my friends, Spessartite Garnet, Jasper, and Pink Pearl. As much as I’ve loved dismantling the empire and saving all your planets, I can’t wait to get home and spend some quality time with my friends.”

What would change about Why So Blue?

Connie and Aquamarine face two other Aquamarines, partially based on those two ones we see in Together Alone.

Despite them submitting to the anti-weapon rule of Era 3 and losing their wands like our Aquamarine, they still want to capture the organics from other planets, Earth being on the list after the colorful planet, so our heroines have to try and knock some sense into them.

As a last card, Aquamarine tries to put an end to this dispute with a quiz about Homeworld’s old society, that Connie can’t really take part in due to her lack of knowledge about Era 1 and 2′s system, only to gradually get pissed at her fellow Aquamarines not wishing to cooperate.

Also, its resolution would be different, since Aquamarines doesn’t seem to have water-bending powers. As the quiz is abruptly interrupted with an argument between the three Aquamarines, Connie taps into her gem-half again out of stress, and finally uses her mind assimilation eye beam on the Mind Aquamarine (parallel to Mean Lapis) after two threats. She immediately grows regretful and apologetic, only for Aquamarine to apologize for her for slipping into old habits by fighting with her fellow Aquamarines. The Chest Aquamarine (parallel to Nice Lapis), however, isn’t as saddened because Mind Aquamarine wasn’t nice to her anyway, and decides to take the opportunity to graduate at the Little Homeschool. Before leaving the planet, Connie removes her own control over Mind Aquamarine and leaves her alone.

While most of the episode has the same concept as canon, the gem that kidnaps the Beach City townsfolk is Lapis Lazuli, who swaps places with Aquamarine.

Although she is still a terraformer Gem, she was also tasked to get humans for the Zoo. She seems like a chill, calm Gem, at first sight, only to be revealed to be the canon Season 3-4 Lapis stripped off her redeeming side (in summary, a sour Gem that couldn’t care less about what happens to the ones she ends up affecting).

She uses water bubbles to trap the captured humans, and Topaz carries them around like a balloon (with string and everything), but still has her water-bending powers, which she uses to hinder Connie down.

how does A Very Special Episode fit into your au?

Relatively, it’s overall plot is similar to the canon one, the only difference being the fusions featured on it, which might change some minor things in the plot.

Kunzite 2.0 (in Rainbow Quartz 2.0′s place): Connie + Pink Pearl. An optimistic sweetheart, while also being smart and willing to teach. Her weapon is also a parasol but formed with Connie’s staff and Pink Pearl’s hammer’s head.

Orange Moonstone (in Sunstone′s place): Connie + Spessartite Garnet (Padparadscha and Eyeball Ruby). Basically, the next-door girl of the high school 90′s movie, wanting to give a hand and some advice as well. Her weapon is a hook formed with Connie’s staff and Spessartite’s scythe.
