Pohang was a city like most outside of Seoul. It wasn’t Seoul, but he could still feel the beating of the port city's heart through its city walls and citizens. Pohang was beautiful, and everyone talked about its landmarks with such pride. Chilbong liked that. The pride of being from where you're from. It almost swept him in especially with its baseball field. 

That was the real reason he was in town. A recruiter was trying to make a home team for Pohang, but Chilbong was probably going to end up somewhere else. Still, he was here with a few teammates, one who happened to be from Pohang, and they would be for the next week. These players were college kids, though, and unlike Chilbong, most weren’t from wealthy parents, so to save money, the player from Pohang’s mother invited the four boys from the team in town to dinner.

It was a nice dinner too, but Chilbong’s real attention was on his teammate's parents. They bickered and such, but everyone around them could tell they were in love, and that their son was very important to them. Chilbong wondered what it would be like to not have divorced parents or parents that cared more about him than appearances, but that thought was interrupted as he walked from the dinner table to the teammates living room where two pretty girls were sitting. 

Yes, as lame as it was, Chilbong got nervous around pretty girls. It wasn’t that he couldn’t function, but sometimes he stuttered and got the sweaty palms. He tried calmed down as he adverted his gaze, but soon his eyes were back to them as he dipped his head. There was something familiar about both girls. One girl was the beautiful version of her brother with his nose and his eyes, but the other girl was clearly not related, but very very familiar. 

The other guys had sat down as the sister began asking them about Seoul, but awkwardly Chilbong stood not knowing where to sit. He wiped his sweaty palms as the teammate whose home it was commanded him to sit next to the big star. He did as told and decided to make conversation with the girl next to him who seemed a little weary as well. “Why does he call you ‘big star?’” Chilbong inquired.

The color in his face drained as he realized whom she was speaking too, him. It wasn’t that he had a fear of public speaking but girls of the opposite gender who were lovely, like the woman speaking, seemed to cast a spell over his tongue that led him to become shy to speak, but he was eager to not trip over his words this time. He swallowed and with his now bright red face he looked to her. “I missed what you said,” he began. “Can you repeat?” he requested.

He was shy, not gumptionless, and in moments like this, it showed. “That’s not right,” he spoke out looking to the male his gaze stern as well as his tone. Chilbong even stood tall looking down to the shorter. “You should apologize to her. She did nothing wrong,” he voiced out.

He really wouldn’t have said anything to her in his awkward stated, but he needed help. “I’m looking for a record in English, but I’m not great with reading in English. Could you help me?” he inquired his voice mumbly and low. Chilbong ruffled his hair and looked up to her for a moment. “Please?” he added dipping his head.
