post canon. a slightly older Gyro is getting nervous about his mortality, having thoughts he doesn't like about members of his family being immortal robots...

He begins theorizing for "solutions" in private, starting experiments at night when the lab is vacant. A semi-crude android copy prototype of himself is built. It's way too risky to immediately mess with himself, therefore of his clones are selected for the project. His consciousness downloaded and online. it quickly becomes way harder to keep him a secret.

Real Gyro in this au has some grey as a treat. MD1 (I don't know what to call him for now) begins choosing his own programming and decides that he is the real Gyro. this is totally fine and doesn't cause problems :)

MD1 is more inspired by great dime chase bulb, gizmocloud bulb, bronze-y and slightly less sophisticated looking. Since he has Gyro's brain, he's able to make improvements to himself. MD2's debut features pink hair, better tech, and a few gizmoduck/impossibin robot inspired improvements.
