I wanted to coin a term for people such as myself who identify as a character for nonkin/syn reasons. This term is “idemic” which according to my language expert friend means “I am” though they never elaborated on what language so. A idemic person is someone who lacks a concept of self, and lacks their own identity so they project themselves onto other characters to they can understand themselves better. Of course, I’m not really a fan of the term idemic, it was just a suggestion. But it’s short and simple. Let me know you’re feedback, i myself have some idemtypes. By the way, if you don’t struggle with identity issues this isn’t really a term for you. This term is exclusively for people who lack their own sense of self, so please don’t make light of this. And in case anyone is wondering, yes, I made this term for myself. I better describe myself with fictional characters. Idemic can also apply to concepts too. So if you feel like you can describe yourself best as an emotion you can call yourself sadidemic. Is this idea stupid? Probably. But I won’t know until I post.
