No, but reaching for the 'your mom' jokes this early on in the conversation shows just how little class or superiority you have so you probably wouldn't understand all the things that go into developing a confident demeanor.

Charlotte and Luke aren't really my friends, so while their presence is welcome, it isn't necessary.  And Jess does want to celebrate my birthday with me; she's a very busy girl and it's flattering whenever she's able to make time.  You know how it goes because I'm dead certain you had to exercise a lot of patience to get in Charlotte's good graces.
