I’m pretty sure I’m listed as a SFW/non-adult blog now. I edited my posts and appealed what needed to be appealed. And then after I had nothing left that was flagged, it seems my blog automatically became accessible through regular links, my avatar was no longer pixelated, etc, etc.
But that’s a thing that’s done now. An item on my ‘to do’ list has been done.

And here’s a comic I drew today. I’m getting a better grasp on how to do quick comics that are presentable.
If I do another comic tomorrow, it’ll be on Twitter. If I can remember, I wont be posting on the 17th, just like all the re-blogs tell me. And then after that, I’ll re-evaluate things here.

And here’s a comic I’ve mentioned having trouble with in the past, where I went through lots of stops and starts and battles with motivation and whatnot. At some point I just decided to accept the problems I was having, accept that I didn’t know how to make it like I wanted it to be, and just plough ahead towards a finished comic in a simple, basic style. And this, from more than a year ago, is the result...

Do people want to read things like this? I honestly want to know, heh. Encourage me!
The questions answered! That’s a kissing booth at a country fair. 1950s or so. That’s a toffee apple in his hand in the beginning. The main guy is meant to be like a college-age guy. And the guys that beat him were meant to be cowboy sorts and they weren’t necessarily brother and sister.
I’m trying to come up with a satisfying way to quickly sketch out and share comic ideas. This is way too rough but it got me to see it could be done. I’ll do another different story and try again with a style more like previous sketches I’ve posted.
And with doing comics: stories like this come to me very quickly and easily but there’s usually a few parts that stick out to me as not working. In the past I would fixate on these parts and think that if I just keep sitting on it I’ll come up with a perfect story; but that always just resulted in me doing nothing. I’ve decided to change my tact lately and I’ll just push ahead, finish things as best as I can figure and move on. And then hopefully as I keep doing more and more of them, I’ll get better at figuring out how to solve problems and tell stories better. I might try to do one a day for a while or at least stick to one a week. I’m still thinking on that.
The problems in this one? I was stuck on how to introduce him in line for the kissing booth and advancing forward. It’s a dumb concern but that’s a good example of the stupid stuff that often throws me. And the end, as usual, is not fantastic. But, at the same time, it is an end, it’s not like it goes nowhere, so that’s something...

Another old drawing! I didn’t like it back then and I still don’t like it today! I’d like to think I could do this nicely these days, I could make a beautiful drawing of The Skipper washing, but right now that’s really just me running my mouth. Let us see action! Let us see a new drawing!

A close-up crop of this was my most successful picture on here. Now you see the full thing, which I previously cropped because the full picture just didn’t look right to me. I look at this now though and I feel like, eh, not great but not painfully awful like I previously thought.
If I had to do this again, besides a slight style and colour change, I’d probably try putting something in the foreground. I think the composition is what I was really struggling with when I was so full of distaste for this way back. Maybe the younger me should’ve tried putting the edge of a sink in the foreground... But enough about all that!
With the subject here, if you don’t remember, there’s a scene in Uncle Buck where he - Mr Uncle Buck - goes to a grade school and he has to kneel down to use the urinal.
And I throw in the other John Candy portrait because I think, Yeah, apart from the nose that really does kind of look like John Candy! I didn’t get a likeness with the Uncle Buck picture, but this other picture, that’s pretty good!
