BIOGRAPHY

“She is a girl with unresolved issues”- before. 

Charisse Diego Gempesao was born on July 31, 2000, in Biao Guianga, a small barangay in Tugbok, Davao City.  She is the youngest of six children of Rogelio Gempesao, a farmer, and Lerio Gempesao, a woman nearly 13 years younger than her husband. Both of her parents are catholic but they are not that devoted. Her mother would rather let her do household chores than playing with other kids. Charisse’s early childhood is tedious and unhappy. She never experience being a child- playing with friends, and escaping from afternoon siesta. She never remembered her family going to church together- a perfect picture of a family every Sunday. 

Sunday is the best day for other children but not a typical day for Charisse. She consider it as worst day of the week. Seeing those so-called perfect Aunties’ visiting them every Sunday is a curse. Since she was young, Charisse have a great animosity with her Aunt. She regarded her as a loud siren and short-tempered perfectionist adult that would scream and scold you for a nonsense reason. She was afraid to be with them even in a single second. Starting from that experience, Charisse easily get irritated and build hostility towards people with the same voice tone with her Aunt. If that young girl has a power to control the time she would definitely skip forward that day; and if primary schools were open every Sunday, she would definitely choose schooling rather than staying at home.  

Growing up, Charisse idolized her father but, everything changes when she was in her third grade. Charisse was an honor student in her elementary years. She announced as 3rd honor when she was in grade three. Her father was so proud of her that time and even decided to be with her at stage to pin the ribbons and medal. They even celebrated her success as an honor student. However, one event rip that happiness in her memory. One night her father asked her one question but she failed to answer it correctly. It was devastating for a young girl at that time because, the person she thought who is been so proud of her called her stupid and escorting her in stage is a shame.  From that moment, Charisse started building self-doubt and felt unworthy. The little confidence she boost in her early years drastically falls in one statement. Charisse still carrying that description up until she was in college. Every time she was recognized as an honor student she was never be proud of it because she believed that she’s still that little 3rd grader that doesn’t deserve any recognition. Art seems to be her best friend at that time- writing poems and making crafts makes her feel better.  

Luckily, she was able to finished her Senior High School in 2018, but she don’t have any idea on what course she may took up in college. She decided not to proceed in college after she graduate Senior High, so that she can be able to think what would be a nice course to take up in the next school year. She planned to go inside the convent to realized her purpose and identity; and if she is called to serve or not but, her father did not allow her. Therefore, she look for a sign that will help her to decide what would be a nice course for her. Time adds pressure in deciding, she only have a couple of weeks left before enrollment. Out of nowhere she remembered the k-drama series which she was so interested. The movie was related in psychology and for that reason she decided to pursue Psychology though she don’t have any background about this.

Her college years in Davao Doctors College was tough. Her unresolved issues always hunting and ghosting her. Identity crisis, self- doubt, and unworthiness makes her college year unbearable. She is a girl with unresolved issues. Until Sheena Nazareno, a professor in Psychology at Davao Doctors College, make her realized that she need to solve her issues as young as possible. In Gods grace, Charisse conquer four years in college and gradually feel in-love in Psychology. 

Although she experience a roller coaster experience in four years, she was able to graduated in Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2022. In the same year, she took the licensure examination of Psychometrician.   Right after she got her license, she applied for work in a prestigious company. She continued her studies and finished her Master’s Degree in Psychology at Ateneo de Davao in 2025. In the same year, she was hired in Psychiatric Center in Davao. She took Doctorate in the same school and graduated in 2030. She was a licensed Psychologist and a life couch when she meet Karl, a Physician and a colleague in Ateneo. Soon after, they got married and had two children. They moved in American after she give birth with her youngest child named Claire. In 2045, she published a book about her success journey in becoming a Psychologist. In the same year, the couple build their own clinic in America to continue their profession.
