Lucasfilm Animation and creators of the Emmy award winning animation series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and the highly successful animation series “Star Wars: Rebels” are looking for a versatile Production Coordinator to join their production team.
Works with the Supervising Director and Episodic Directors to develop expressive and entertaining 3D previsualization for an Episodic TV Series. Translates either unfinished ideas or script pages into full scenes. Highly proficient at rendering imaginary scenes with little or no reference.Responsibilities• Illustrates, and completes 3D storyboards within production timelines.
• Pitches boards to directors and story crew; makes revisions as required.
• Collects visual references.
• Ability to come up with inventive ideas and story material.
• Willingness to rework material multiple times while keeping a fresh eye.Preferred Qualifications• Experience or knowledge of cinematic techniques, language and shot composition required.
• Extensive training in and/or strong demonstrable understanding of the principles of art and film.
• Expertise in scene, shot, camera, and character composition is required.
• Experience working with high-end 3D Storyboard tools such as Maya desired.
• Highly proficient at rendering imaginary scenes with little or no reference.
• Proficiency in Photoshop required, as well as familiarity with Wacom tablet/pen.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for one or more of the following areas:
Execute cloth, hair and fur shots with artistry and within scheduled time frame
Proactively looking for ways to improve current practices and efficiency
Troubleshoot CFX related issues
May help mentor entry level artists
Rigging dynamic simulation in Maya
Groom fur/hair
Run cloth, hair, fur shots
Requirements:
3+ year of work experience in Cloth and Hair/Fur in a high-end 3D animation/VFX productions as a Character FX or Creature artist
Proficiency with nCloth and/or XGen in Maya
Works well under pressure and deadlines and deliver requests with quick turn-around
Take direction well
Can handle shots independently
Have artistic eyes for cloth and hair dynamics and the look of fur.
A broad understanding of rigging terminologies and geometry topology and deformations
Problem solver, capable to find solutions for wide range of technical challenges
Good communication skills
Positive attitude and team player
Open to new ideas and new practices
Worked with Katana and/or RenderMan is a plus
Yeti experience is a plus
Houdini experience is a plus
Scripting in Mel and Python is a plus
