I caught the housing bug....

Yesterday the 14 housing bug suddenly got to me. I love games like Animal Crossing so I'm surprised it took this long for me to care. I ended up spending too many hours and too much gil and even learned a few of the glitches. The house is for a dead FC called the Royal Family so I tried to make us look a little wealthy lol. Only really worked on the first floor for now.

Watching Yu-Gi-Oh and as an adult the theme of the power of friendship hits way harder. Finding and keeping friends is a part of life its so easy to neglect post school.

It greatly helped me like my art and myself, since honestly, both are linked. I also met so many people and made so many friends. I tried to find as much people back here as I could. Anyway. Favorite New Albums 2022

While I am not great about following the latest releases, I thought I would compile a list of the few albums I managed to catch on release this year. There are a few more than this, but these are ones I enjoyed the most. My personal music journey this year led me further away from my older interests and deeper into random metal bands.

Pop:

Beatopia - beabadoobee

Such a cozy and fun album. I only knew beabadoobee from the song Space Cadet before this. Hard to pick favorite tracks since I like different ones depending on my mood.

LoFi:

Calamity - bioshpere

bioshpere is probably in my top 5 LoFi artists and so I am not surprised how much I loved this album. A full album of biosphere's gorgeous production alongside several different vocal artists making this album stand out from the previous ones. An absolute treat to listen to on a nighttime drive.

Metal/Rock:

The God Machine - Blind Guardian

My gateway band to the metal genre as a whole. While I lover their grandiose orchestral tracks like Wheel of Time, this album holds that back to deliver a more aggressive experience. Another insanely good album in their discography I will always go back to. Top tracks are probably Damnation (Kingkiller references woo) and the emotional Let It Be No More.

In Stasis - Monuments

Have to mention this album as the representative for my journey into djent and metalcore this year. Got drawn in by their songs featuring Mick Gordon, the maker of the Doom and Prey soundtracks. An exhilarating trip of an album that 100% enabled my workouts to be more enjoyable.

Data Renaissance - The Algorithm

Combines software engineering with metal somehow and its awesome. An instrumental album that was perfect for workouts and gaming.

Remember That You Will Die - Polyphia

This album caught me by surprise. I'd heard of Polyphia before but they didn't really click with me until this album. To say these musicians are talented is an understatement. The depth, skill, and pure fun in these tracks warranted numerous relistens.

This is not the extent of all 2022 albums I engaged with but only the ones I was left with a strong impression by at the moment. So many times I listen to an album when it comes out, forget about it, and come back years later with a newfound obsession.
