Hope everyone is staying well during these difficult and uncertain times. I for one have been doing more Netflix watching as usual, specifically Schitt's Creek. While watching, I ended up making individual illustrations of some of the buildings in the town, including the Blouse Barn (which isn't technically in the town, but I just love Wendy so much, and the actual architecture of the building was so cool, I just had to illustrate it!). My favorite time in SF is twilight, when the houses nestled in the hills light up like candles on an altar. The Golden Gate Bridge becomes illuminated as well, enhancing its iconic orange color. The first photo was taken while on a Midnight Mystery Bike Ride, when we met up at Battery Cranston. I looked into it and it turns out the bike group still exists! Haven’t gone in years, but happy to see there’s one thing that hasn’t changed. The second photo was taken from Bernal, looking north towards the Golden Gate. When I first moved here, I took notice of how so many people were riding bikes and scooting around the city. Now, with the maturation and saturation of smartphones, so many more people now can get around with scooter apps. So I’ve included a photo of a guy riding a “Scoot” ⚡️on Market Street. Other than that, the purist approach to the before and after shots reveal things such as the new bus stop structures and trash cans that now line our streets.
