Patience is a virtue, but I'll take pity. I'd say it would be you that is distracting me Mr. Court.

I think I'll take a look at it for your benefit. I've never heard of Heart of Darkness. What is it even about?
Quiet...
… Sure…
My mother used to read the Great Gatsby to me when I was younger… That was her favorite book… Or Heart of Darkness… I don’t have any specific authors that are my favorites.

Aren't I just?
The Raven would be my all time favorite poem of his. I must ask you though, if not Poe then who?
Quiet...
Cute.
There was a long history of artists in my family… Apparently… Poe, huh? Not a huge fan. Though I do like that one poem… Annabel Lee? That’s it…

Oh yeah. I didn't write again for a week.
What's up?
I mean it has it’s uses. So, this test of Lusia’s… She’s done stuff like this before, right?

She resisted the snarl that threatened to fall from her lips, fighting to keep her expression straight as he spoke. It was evident how much he was enjoying her reactions and she fought to remain stoic. She nearly scoffed at the wordmiracle. She froze as he mentioned memories and a cold seeped into her very bones. There was no way he knew all the details, had just wanted to see her squirm as she watched a parent be tortured. Her past had been left far behind and no one in the Alliance knew apart from Lusia. But that didn't stop the goosebumps from rising.
His casual stance served enough to prove to Cel that there was more than her late father up Akongo's sleeve. She waited patiently as his monologue continued, weighing her options in her mind. It wasn't real. Her father had died and was no longer alive. She had checked, made sure. So as she fixed her gaze on the screen, it was with a decision set in her mind.
"No."
For a Second Time Around || Akongo & Cel
Akongo’s smile stretched wide across his face. “I thought you’d be more receptive to that.” He was pleased that he was able to elicit such strong emotions within the young woman’s mind. “Your father, here,” he continued, “is far more alive than the day you left him thanks to medical miraclesmy people and I have performed. All we’re missing is a handful of memories that you still retain. What I ask is you meet with your father and myself to fill in those blanks.”
The man leaned nonchalantly on the back of the chair that Celeste’s father sat in. “As I promised before; no harm would come to you should you follow a certain set of rules.” He leaned forward to put his face closer to the camera. “I’m offering you a chance to make your past right. I know your daddy wasn’t the nicest of fellows after your mother’s death, but this time around things can be much, much different.”

Yes, eh.
I've never been much of an artist actually. Too much of a left brain thinker. Anything by Mr. Edgar Allen Poe.
Quiet...
Canada, eh?
Painting. It was the only thing I could keep up with when I left… Though it made it easier to find me with a trail of things painted on rocks and shit… Favorite book?

Hit me with your best shot.
I was born in Canada. Its a little blurry as to where exactly since we didn't stick around very much but yes. Favorite hobby?
Quiet...
I don’t know where to begin to ask to be quite honest with you…
I guess… Where were you born…?

I guess you would be, huh? Well ask away, maybe we have more in common than either of us know.
Thank you.
Quiet...
I’m sort of surprised every day… Considering I was nine the last time I ever spoke to anyone.
Nice shot.

You just love being able to pop out of, well, anything, don't cha?
What's up?
Well, it’s a good thing I’ve been doing nothing but training lately. There’s the occasional book or two, but the training facilities have had more than their fair share of intradimensional holes punched through the walls and floors. And ceilings. And just about any flat surface I could fit a portal on.

Probably not. You'd be surprised at what you can find in people. I know I sure am.

But coy is what I do best. Especially after a few drinks. C'mon. Try and figure it out.

Looks like we won’t be bored too long. Did you see that announcement from Lusia?

Oh I'm sure you could use that mind of yours to figure it out, sir.
I have a high level tolerance for ego.
